My older daughter went here 6 years ago. It was a good school. My younger is now there and I'm surprised at how much its fallen since then. The teachers have changed out some, and the older ones seem defeated. The principal is new too, and she's pretty much clueless about how to run a school. I'm sure that she was a good teacher (ok, I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.) I we have more kids, we'd move.
Fantastic Princable who is always caring, lovable teachers that are always compassionate about your child and overall great students.
The teachers at this school appear to be outstanding, especially the new 7th grade language arts teacher. There is little help with transitioning from elementary school and communication with parents is poor to non-existent. The amount of homework is staggering. The administration needs to improve communication with parents and increase their support for the teachers.
Unlike the prior parent, I've been a bit taken back by the uncaring of the teachers in the transition from 5th to 6th grade. I've personally had to be much more heavy handed than I ever imagined would be required. All in all, I believe the 6th grade program is in need of culture change.
I have to say, there are some teachers there that love what they do. They care about our kids, and that they have an education. It's not a job, it's their passion! Kudos to the teachers and the staff of Parras Middle school. Although, I think the Principal needs some Adult people skills training. Otherwise, I love this school. I know when my son goes into HS Next year he will be prepared...academically & socially! Thank you Parras teachers!
The teachers at the school coordinate the curriculum very well and are supportive of my son.
We moved our son here from Adams two years ago and couldn't be happier. It is a great school from the teachers to the parents to the kids - a good atmosphere whenever I've been on campus. The Principal could use some 'people skills' but she puts the kids first and it shows. Overall it's been a very positive experience for my son and our family and I recommend it highly.
Positive leadership and mature, enthusiastic, sensible staff. Students appear confident, organized, relaxed and appropriately polite.
This is one of the top middle schools I have ever visited. I have been to a lot of schools in the Southland, and this school has motivated teachers and students. This is a school to watch, for sure. It was a pleasure walking in the classrooms. Highly educated staff. Plus they are caring.
