Great Western Elementary School

I am very impressed with this sweet country school. Getting involved was the best thing I could of done. The teachers are great. The principle is amazing. Out on the play ground and being involved. My daughter is in the special ed with Mr Stafford and because of him, she wants to be a special ed teacher!!! WHO says that as an eight year old? I take my hat off to all of them. We are moving so it is a great lose to our family. They will be missed!!

The thought of a little country school is quite alluring, but, I do have to say that I have been disappointed. The available opportunities for the students to be involved in axtracurricular activities, if very minimal. Parental involvement for school activities is so minimal, that I don't even want to help. Our teachers don't seem to be excited about being at school. They seem far too stressed about whether their students can master the test and if they have taught their students how to get the most correct answers possible.

Great Western is a solid elementary school in the Reedley area. They provide traditional learning opportunities with some special options such as Chess club. The music program in contolled by the district to funnel students into 'Big Green' the monumental Reedley High band. Parents are welcomed to participate and support the school. Multiple opportunities are provided each month to recognize student achievement which is nice.
