I love this school! The teachers are amazing and my 2nd grader learned so much and really loves school. My kindergartener loved his teacher! We are very lucky to be in such a great school.
I was a little nervous when we moved to a 'small town' school but we couldn't be happier. The teachers are great and our kids are very happy there!
Rescue School has been great place for my children to learn! The teachers are great and the parents are very involved. I love the small town feel.
I also am a parent of a 1st grader. I loved the kindergarten teachers and thought the 1st grade couldn't be as good. I was wrong. The teachers were amazing. They worked so well together to help my child learned to read. She struggles so much in reading that I was afraid she'd have to repeat 1st grade. Those teachers worked together so well that now she is a successful reader. My daughter loved her teacher and I am very happy with the school and with the education and environment my daughter is in.
Both my children were placed in classrooms with team teachers and then one of my sons was moved to another classroom. It seemed like a rinky dink farm school. I moved my children to Oak Chan and have been happy.
My child had a positive experience in Kindergarten - the teachers were great. Now that my child is in 1st grade, I have seen more classroom issues-there are 4-5 children who are consistenly getting into trouble, unable to use self control, and in my opinion trouble makers. I have also seen a lot of disrespect towards staff members by the children themselves. My child has been a vicitm of abuse and harrassment three times this year by fellow school mates in the 1st gr.!!, the administration hasn't properly taken care of the problem. The admin. communication to the parents is weak, especailly to the kids who are victims of school bullying, and hitting. I believe zero tolerence for hitting, threats. A boy who hits a girl should be suspended a day not allowed to stay in school. If it doesn't get better at Rescue, i am pulling my child out!
Extremely unsatisfied due to teachers and unsanitary conditions.
My child has attended Rescue for two years now. I have been happy with things for the most part. Occasionally I have had issues, such as poor supervision by yard duties, but as for the teaching staff...I could not be happier. I was astounded to see that our Great School ranking was so low...it seems the parents and students seem to really love their school. My student will continue at Rescue next year and I hope all her K-5 years.
My child's experience at Rescue school has been very positive. He is thriving academically and socially. I am pleased to know that the values I am teaching my child at home are being reinforced at school. Values such as: respect, responsibility, honesty, character counts, etc. I am continually impressed by the parents who give their time to volunteer for fundraising events throughout the year. The administration and staff are to be commended for their tireless work and endless patience to ensure my child's education is outstanding.
All of my children have attended Rescue Elementary over the last 12 years. During that time there have been many changes both good and bad. As one of the other parents posted here stated there was, a lot of in fighting between staff', and that was true. As we all know it only takes one or two bad apples to ruin the whole pie. However, about a year and a half ago I began to notice (as have many others) a distinctively optimistic transformation in the attitude and moral of the staff and teachers. The Principal Sandee Barrett deserves the credit for this change because of her perseverance. Now she has the loyal support of the new Vice Principal Anne Stone and they have formed an impressive team. Together with their staff they are working to improve the over all atmosphere of the school and they are being very successful. I would never consider sending my children anywhere else. I would recommend our school to anyone who wanted their children truly cared about by all of the staff from the custodian to the Principal.
