When Magnolia had growing pains (having more than doubled due to lack of good public middle & high schools in Santa Clara), and some parents complained consistently, they were heard. This is a major difference thanks to being a public charter. The management moved swiftly to incorporate parent requests, brought in new leadership and replaced some teachers. This never happened in our old public school.

Great school! My son is in 8 grade and he has realy good grades in all subjects. This is a small school but great teachers. They help kids so much. They provide free tutoring too.

I am an active parent volunteer at this school and i can't be happier to support a school that is so dedicate to teach our kids and to help them be the best they can be. my son is in 7th grade he is doing wonderful i cant be happy to have my son in a school that provided the support our kids need. great teacher, wonderful staff, love the way the principal always like to reward the students who do better. what better way to push our kids self steem. thank you msa 1 for all the great job,

Hello! I Love This School! I Been Here For 4 Years Am in High School! I Been Here since 6th Grade and some People Here Still Know Me! I Love this School But It Small But Great Education! I Hope Someday Here We have lockers! So We dont Carry Heavy Things! *hurts are backs* But this school is the best!!!! it is a great school where there is a safe enviornment and great teachers. The classes are great there is always something new to learn.The teachers help the students with the lessons if they dont understand them and make the lessons easy to learn. There are many diferent classes and after school activities for everyones taste. I like that everyone can express their opinion for many topics or school related things. i like that the school wants to know the opnions of the students and pearents in order to improve things.

Wonderful school. My kid studies hard to keep up with the best student in her classroom. Competition brings success. Success brings better standards. They also play volleyball, chess many games and activities, picnics. Teachers and students are so dedicated. I am a happy parent.

All I can say is that school is very outstanding... I have been here for 4 years, and I'm enjoying it. Everyone is very friendly and the teachers are always happy to help you! The teachers would sometimes crack a funny joke or story to make us feel at ease. The school rules help us keep delinquents out of the way! The teachers give us helpful notes and study guides to help us prepare for tests. Along with fun, suspenseful review games.

Magnolia Science academy is definately a school to go to. The teachers don't only teach us academically, they also help build our character. I'm currently a senior and I've grown to be someone who works hard for everything because of the help of the caring teachers we have.

You will see the difference if your kids are in this school. It is an excellent place for them to learn.the teachers and the administration are great.I have two boys that graduated here and are doing very well in college.My youngest is a senior in high school and doing great as well. Love this school! I've known this school since it opened and I'll tell you it is a success year after year.

I have nothing but good things to say about this school. THe teacher support and the mentoring the staff has provided for my child is priceless...my child is attending MSA-1 and has made consistent progress. The dean and teachers are all open and keep us parents informed throughout the year. I highly recommend this school to any parent who wants their child to succeed in all academic areas as well as in physical education and extra curricular activites. Actually my child is fully involved in the school that he now has higher aspirations than I could ever hope for. Thank you MSA-1

I love this school. I highly recomend it for any kid. The teachers are great and they teach you very carefully. This is a very exellent school. I had only been months in this school and i already think great of it. The classes have a short amount of students and that is great like that students pay more attention to their teachers and the teachers help more the students. Everything in this school is awesome including staffs, teachers, principle, dicipline..etc. I go to MSA-5 in hollywood and I go to 6th grade and i think i'm learning alot and i love that. Also i love the idea that you could check your grades online and see how you are going like that if you are failing you already know what to bring up and whaen the report cards come you get all A's. I extremely recomend this school..

MSA-Reseda is a Great School. I have two children in 6th and 8th grade. The teachers and administration are very cordial and friendly. The office staff is great! The school offers many after school activities in addition to free tutoring! The school has a web site access to for parents/studens to view all the daily homework assignments and how the students are doing in all their classes. Highly recommend the school and the school's education standards are extremely high!

About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.

About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) to test high school students' skills in English language arts and mathematics. The results for grade 10 students taking the test for the first time are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The CAHSEE is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of California. Students must pass all parts of the CAHSEE in order to graduate from high school. If they do not pass it the first time, students have multiple opportunities to retake the test. About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) to test high school students' skills in English language arts and mathematics. The results for grade 10 students taking the test for the first time are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The CAHSEE is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of California. Students must pass all parts of the CAHSEE in order to graduate from high school. If they do not pass it the first time, students have multiple opportunities to retake the test. The goal is for all students to pass both sections of the test.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
