I have a child that has attended this school since pre-k and is now in her 1st year of Catholic High School. The school did a fabulous job in educating my child and is excelling in high school (straight A's). High test scores on the ACT, as well. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the academics at the school! My child's academic excellence in high school is proof of that.

I am a parent of a child who has attended this school. I have grown very unhappy with the school's academic program and the lack of communication between the teachers and parents, so much that I am removing my child out of this school. I am very disappointed in the lack of leadership from the principal to the after school program. I would not recommend this school!!!!!

This school has made many changes over the past year and with a new principal and staff, things are looking very promising. The school is finally on the right track and things can only get better from here. It's a great time to enroll because at this rate, the small class sizes won't last for long.

I enrolled my kid here for Kindergarten, they attended another preschool, so this is our first year at this school..Not only has my child had three teachers in one year I do not see my child being challenged&my child is bored at school. My little one cries every morning when getting ready for school and begs me to not have to go. Also, the school is CONSTANTLY hitting parents up for money. This month I have to donate an item, for example, worth 40 dollars with a receipt attached to it to prove I spent the 40, or I can donate cash.In addition to the previous fundraisers. The principal is condescending,& takes the slightest criticism of the school extremely personally. She ignores parents who do not spend all of their time at the school, and has never ONCE said hello to me when she sees me. She is not a strong leader, and does not truly inspire people to be part of a school community. If anything the room parents are what bring families out to volunteer. I highly believe that the parochial schools in Richmond are not the ultimate place for education for our children. There are some great schools out there, and next year I hope to be able to get my kid into one of those options.

St David's is a great school with very caring and loyal teachers and staff. Their academic programs help prepare their students for achieving success in high school. With regards to my children, both loved it at St. David's and did well in high school and have gone on to college. I feel that having attended St. David's has contributed greatly to their being the intelligent, confident, caring, and well-mannered young adults they are today.

unsatisfactory standards as a private school. now that my children went to a different private school, we can see the big difference! we felt that we wasted a lot of our money all through the years here!

St.David's is a wonderful school. The school is a very close knit family school. Everyone knows everyone. The principal and teachers exept a lot for the students both with their studies as well as their behavior. The school has something for everyone. The school also offers lots of extra programs. If you are looking for a school that is family friendly, and that will prepare you child for highschool/college this is the school. I love it.

While this school has some good aspects there are some that are not so good. They would rather retain certain teachers that are not capable of teaching the appropriate material for the students then to satisfy the needs of the students at the request of the parents.

My daughter has been attending the school for 7 years and has received individual attention to help her succeed. The school welcomes many cultures and fosters an attitude of warmth and caring while continuing to find the best approach to teaching basic curriculum. It's a great experience for child and family.

Wonderful school. Strong sense of family, community and values. My 20 year old attended St. David's and his little sister is now part of their student body. The staff has remained very almost intact since my first child attended. The principal taught at the school for many years before becoming their principal. This gives her the advantage of knowing what the parents and student body need and expect from their staff. Most of them know each child by name. They are extremely supportive and caring. Students are expected to give the best of themselves on an academic and behavior level.

I am a graduate of St. David's and my experience there was life altering. The teachers there were great. The student teacher ratio was great compared to the public school I attended previously. I believe that the emphasis put on parent involvement is a key point to the parent also being a hands-on parent. Parents are at the school so often that it is hard not to be involved. I recall that the principal of the school was also a teacher, a teacher that taught at least one subject a year to my class, until graduation. Sister Mary Floracita was that teacher, and she left a lasting impression on me. She was a very good teacher and a very good principal The school overall, if I had to give it a grade, is an 'A'. I graduated in 1980.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
