Ripon Christian does a great job preparing students to be followers of Jesus by helping them develop a biblical worldview in all subject areas that rests on the solid rock of Christ and equipping them to face a world hostile to the truth of scripture while training them for their calling to transform the world - to be God’s hands, feet, and mouthpieces in this world.

Ripon Christian is a great school. Our children love to attend every day and have developed amazing friendships. The teachers are very loving and kind to all of their students. Both of my children are ahead in reading and math thanks to RC. They thrive in the small classes. They also have grown spiritually. They are able to attend chapel and have daily devotions. Every subject is taught with a Biblical worldview. They are able to put Christ in the center of their day. In the end, that is all that matters.

Teacher effectiveness: Very effective

The teachers my children have had are amazing. They are into technology and keeping current with the curriculum. They pour their heart into what they teach. Every week we know exactly what is taught in the classroom.

Yes. The workload at RC prepares graduates for college and entering the workforce. The students are also able to take academically challenging courses.

Amount of homework: Just right
May 26, 2015
Our children have homework and it seems to be the appropriate amount given their age. Communication with the teachers is always open and so I feel that if it ever became too much, I would be able to talk to the teacher.

The students are taught a Christ-centered education. This is reinforced in every aspect of the curriculum. They also have chapels and daily devotions that reinforce this concept.

Very dependent on the level and the class.... There are unqualified teachers attempting to teach in the high school and the students pay the price.

Amount of homework: Too much

Honestly it depends on the level of the student.... elementary tends to be too heavy, middle school is pretty good at finding a balance, and high school is extremely inconsistent... not sure how independent and college ready our students will be

Students have a high expectation placed upon them in the middle school and the students tend to rise to the occasion. Upon entering high school there is a lack of articulation and the standards are not consistent.

The students have respect for adults on the surface but towards each other it is extremely lacking.

Their is a lot of bullying and intimidation that occurs between students. It is not easy to address in such a small school in a way that makes students that come forward feel safe.

Academically students expected to do their best and answer for their mistakes. Most teachers are willing to offer help and guidance when needed .

Smaller classes can be an advantage. And if you prefer a small school as an alternative to public school and their issues, RC is a good choice. Each level has its own idiosyncrasies. In the high school, they are very sports emphasized, sometimes to the detriment of the education. Lots off money gets poured into expansion of the sports program, yet many classrooms don't have enough text books for each of their students. Also the music program is suffering due to being allocated as low priority. It is very hard for students to maintain consistent program involvement due to limited scheduling and multiple conflicts. Several of the high school teachers do not have a background in teaching or are teaching outside their primary subject specialty. It's the students that suffer from their lack of preparedness for the classroom. The middle school program is their strongest and the students have an extremely caring and involved group of teachers that care about each of the students as an individual beyond the classroom as well as the student side. The elementary program has been fairly good, but is highly dependent on the classroom teacher the student is placed with. Several teachers have been let go recently due to not necessarily agreeing with administration on things and parents were given no explanation. Tuition cost is increasing yearly without classroom conditions improving.

Good opportunities for extra activities for our kids with a smaller school. Music, sports, leadership, debate, community service and AP classes. Both of my kids took full advantage of these opportunities. Both got nice college scholarships. On top of all that, both kids are strong in their faith. You can't put a price on that.

Ripon Christian provides a great education while also encouraging students in their personal relationship with God. The teachers and administrators are very encouraging towards the students and genuinely want to see them all succeed. RC continues to add more opportunities for students with additional classes and athletics. We are blessed to send our kids here and they are blessed to be part of the RC family!

The only downside is that it isn't free, and can not offer as many classes as a large public school.

I am a former Ripon Christian graduate, attending from 1st to 12th grade. I now have 3 children who have all attended Ripon Christian, one has already graduated 2 are currently in high school. I work at a public school which does have some good teachers and does offer more classes, however that does not even come close to the higher level of education at Ripon Christian. The smaller school allows the teachers to know all the students.

Ripon Christian is an all around great school. No matter what your top priorities are for choosing a school, Ripon Christian has it! As the name suggests, students are taught academics in a Christian atmosphere first and foremost. Ripon Christian is also an extremely safe place to send your child each day. It has great teachers and administration and a great sports program!

Ripon Christian does not just have high academics and sports but is a family that is always there for the kids. The teachers are passionate about their jobs. The busing system is so convenient for the families that live in or out of town. Such a blessing for my kids to be here.

We tried the public schools in the area and soon switched to RCS. The academics are above average and the teachers are very caring and kind. The principal is by far the most excellent principal I have encountered. Although enrollment is declining, this school offers many services that the public schools have cut, including PE and music.

I attend Ripon Christan and i am very pleased. It is a great safe atmosphere and everyone is friendly and it is very educational. I recomend this school for anyone who want to send their children to a Christan school. I would never want to go to a different school.

this school is a disgrace to children everywhere and would NOT recament it to anyone who is looking for a good christian school. The principal is almost a joke and the teachers act only if they are babysitting (talking about middle school teachers.)

I am thrilled with the K-8 principal. I liked him as my child's teacher and he is just as good as a principal. I don't mind that academics are more important than athletics, they should be. Rules are not always adhered to with regard to behavior of the players. The academics are good throughout all grades and the curriculum is great. Growing community means more diverse student body.

Ripon Christian offers quality education from a Christian perspective. We have both children that currently attend and have graduated from RC. Overall, our experience has been positive. We are grateful for the dedication of committed Christian teachers who encourage excellence and challenge students to work toward their potential. Our older children were accepted at both private and state universities and were successful in their college experience. RC has a good program at the elementary level. The K-8 principal (former RC teacher) is a dedicated individual with integrity and solid leadership abilities. The middle school has made great strides academically especially in the area of mathematics and their athletic program is well organized. The high school is rebuilding their English and mathematics dept. and working toward an industrial arts program. Ironically, for a program that was once very successful, there seems to be less commitment toward the athletic department at RC.

I think that rc is an ok school. They are making a lot of changes for the better. The ciriculim is a little behind but its a very weel organized system. I am not a fan of the new k-8 principal but again everyone has their own views. As fare as athletics go, their program is growing, slowly, but growing. They have a great new athletic director, tiger shelton. Overall this is a pretty good school.

Ripon Christian is a great school. The teacher student ratio is low and the arts program is strong with music instruction starting in kindergarten with a certified music teacher.

I am a former Ripon Christian Student (class of 1988), and I give the school a high recommendation. I received the finest possible education, and was very well prepared for university, graduate school and law school. My teachers genuinely cared for me, and gave strong support to my academic, emotional and spiritual growth. Discipline was strong. In fact, I felt discipline and structure to be excessive at the time, but now I would want no less for my own children. In terms of instruction, I was provided a solid core curriculum. For instance, in third grade, I learned to actually diagram sentences, a skill that formed the underpinning for coherent legal writing (a skill lacking in many young lawyers).

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
