RHS is a small, unified school. It gives students the oppurtunity to interact with a lot of people, get involved, have a direct relationship with teachers and faculty members. RHS allows students to enter a community-oriented school that encourages good citizenship and volunteerism. Attending RHS is definitely a wise choice!!

Twoof my children have attended Riverbank High School and two are currently attending. Those who have attended, went on to college, graduated, and are now successful, working adults. The two who are currently attending enjoy RHS very much. There is a closeness and a family type atmosphere there. The teachers truly care about each student being successful.

As a former Campus Supervisor at RHS I have this to say about school safety. I worked to strengthen the dress code policy and sat on the discipline committee to help shape discipline policies for the campus. The Administration ensured all Campus Supervisors received the State Mandated training for Campus Supervisors as well as provide additional training above and beyond that. I attended out of state conferences on gangs and drugs to help the staff identify problems and trends before they became major issues. In addition to all of the above the Administration and staff provide counseling to problem students in order to turn them around before it is too late.

I have a special needs child and found the counselling and instruction for her to be good. I would have liked to get more involved in her program, but did not really feel empowered to do this. I was able to get regular feedback, but this was minimally helpful and for one of her courses the teacher was constantly changing. I feel there needs to be a less complicated. less bureaucratic way for parents to get involved in the education process at this school.

Riverbank High School is working very hard to meet the expectations of both NCLB and the local community. With the current programs in place it will only be a short time before RHS is exceeding all stakeholders expectations.

As a graduate of Riverbank, I can say that it is one of the best schools I have been to. I have also been to Escalon High. Riverbank has no gang problem in all four years that I attended I saw maybe 4 fights a year, a very small amount. The teachers that I had while attending were great teachers, all gave their best in order to make sure that I was able to reach my goals. The campus supervisors do their jobs as well. There is a police officer that visits the campus on a daily basis. The main thing is that the kids are happpy being there, not once while going to school did I ever feel scared about going, I felt safe everyday.

There is not enough discipline at this school. I am scared everyday to send my child to this school because I fear for his safety. They need more campus monitors to ensure the saftey of our children. There needs to be more police presence at the school. Things could be a lot better if the school became a closed campus like Ceres High to protect our children.
