When the leadership has made so many enemies that there is a "Not Allowed on Campus" list, there might be a problem! A former principal, a former board member, and at least 3 former parents all made the list! And these people don't randomly go on campus to create drama. Their kids now play sports at other Christian schools and when their game happens to be at RCS, these parents are being threatened by campus security on behalf of a coward hiding in his office - leave or we'll have you removed by police. I haven't been impressed by the leadership at RCS in quite some time, but now....I just find them disgusting!

Used to be a good school. It's on life support now. My child took high school Spanish there for 2 yrs and didn't learn squat. I pulled him this year and put him in a far better college prep school. He took their Spanish class over the summer (the immersion method), he can now write, speak and read it. He has learned more in 6 courses over the summer than 2 yrs at RCS. The teachers are woefully underpaid but then a lot of them are not as skilled as in the better schools. The good thing about the teachers is that they do love the kids which is a blessing, but unfortunately does not make up for the questionable leadership now in place at the school. 5 or 6 board members have resigned in the past 3 yrs and some have taken their kids out which makes you wonder if they saw the titanic heading for the iceberg and got out before impact. I'm extremely pleased with my childs new school, it has rules, high standards and strong, teachers, leaders and programs. Tuition is double but you get what you pay for. The supt. that rescued RCS 3yrs ago has now killed it.

Sad to see the school we love in rapid decline due to compromising, murky leadership. Too many details don't add up and accountability is non-existent. Contradictions found in communications coming straight from the top...makes me want to scream at the emails, "get your story straight!" So here are a few facts: 1) In one year the elementary school has seen nearly a 100% turnover of teachers. 2) In three years at least 6 board members have resigned, leaving them with only 3 board members currently. 3) Registration is at an all time low, dropping from 675+ (preschool thru 12th) in 2011-12 to less than 300 for the 2014-15 school year...now that's an underwhelming leadership resume!

An alarming concern is that this school lacks proper administration, strong Christian leadership, and academic excellence. This school has shrunk in size over the last few years due to unstable leadership and administration. At the cost of academic excellence, the current administration, lacking in experience and education, continues to scramble to pull things back together jeopardizing the academic and spiritual future of our children.

Love the school. Have three kids going there now. The teachers are great. Truly Christ centered. Have so many programs that nobody else offers, like 'Race for Space" engineering, Robotics, unbelievable Drama department and many more. Really hope we can pull together the new "Campus of the future" . What ever it is,as long as the spirit of the school alive, which is deep care for the kids and strive for excellence in spiritual and academic growth, we will support and follow the school.

I have had my son at RCS since 7th grade and let me tell you myself as well as my wife is extremely picky and selective of where and with whom we leave our son with. We have no reservation when it comes to RCS. My son has grown spiritually and academically by leaps and bounds, this is because the staff is deeply involved in each child s development. I have to tell you, that even though the school is going through changes their focus and drive to the school of the future is a reality, while keeping Christ at the center and foremost. It is expected that when you are growing, the pains will come. As they in order to make an omelet you must crack some eggs. Over all I have seen and experienced that nothing supersedes the SAFETY, ACADEMIC, AND SPIRITUAL growth of each child.

The elementary school should be greatly concerned. Yet another assistant principal hired at the secondary level, though the school is at it's lowest student enrollment in 10 years, and still no elementary principal hired. If I were an elementary parent being asked (and you will be asked!) to donate to RCS's "School of the Future" above and beyond my child's tuition, I'd pass. I'd be unsure as to whether or not those plans included my kid.

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to remove my child from RCS. Despite promises from the superintendent that the school of the future will become a reality, I do not see that as a possibility in any way. With a deficit of 1.4M this school year and a claim of 2.2M in the bank, it leaves only 800K left to purchase land and build the campus. I hate to, but I must leave before the school is destroyed.

Gospel centered, mission driven, future oriented yet grounded in the present, technologically pushing forward, innovative thinking, seeking transformation in the lives of the next generation, are just some of the realities found at Riverside Christian Schools. Good is never enough and Riverside Christian fits that excellence motif, this is why my kids are their!

I have been an employee at RCS for several years. My children have also attended RCS. The integration of technology and Biblical truths in the classroom is priceless. Myself and the other staff members support the vision of leadership. The students in the classroom are truly blessed on this campus.

Riverside Christian Schools represents the future of education-not just Christian education but all education. A clear vision to innovate, transform, and explore is evident in all aspects of Riverside Christian life. Space programs, robotics, missions, and every other class prove this assertion. Good is never enough and great is the road to excellence-and this is the philosophical presupposition of all that is taking place at this unique school of the future (The campus of the future is just an acknowledgement of who we already are). Continually aiming at influencing the culture for the sake of Christ and the furthering of the Kingdom of God is the end to which Riverside Christian exists. For this reason Riverside Christian Schools is the place for my kids and I highly recommend it for yours.

I ve never been more please as a parent with a school than I am with Riverside Christian Schools. The teachers both display Christ and are highly qualified to teach the subject matter. The student body readily accepted my child and an overall family environment pervades the school. Plenty of activities exist-race for space, missions, and robotics is but the tip of the ice-burg and I encourage all parents to consider Riverside Christian Schools for their kids.

The school does not deliver what it promises. It promises to "explore, innovate, and transform." It promises to teach our children to be critical thinkers, so they can think and analyze and think for themselves. This is not what is being modeled here. Any strong leadership that used these skills were terminated or were not offered new contracts (majority of the staff). The remaining lower leadership are "yes" people to the upper leadership. If you're looking at the school, look closely. Look at the biographies of the remaining staff. There are a few rockstars, but most are inexperienced. Stay away.

My daughter attended the preschool and had an amazing time! I noticed changes made... However I wasn't affected by the changes. There were informative emails sent out and I thought it was professional. The Preschool is a loving nurturing place. Mrs. Gore the preschool principal is the heart of the school, loving and firm. Just the the way I like it. The school has taken measures in recent incidents to have a armed guard and I love that our kids have extra protection. I am not sure if my family will continue ...but only for economic reasons. I loved this school and my daughter loved it most of all!

My son currently goes to Riverside Christian High School. There have been many changes in the last two years. To make way for RCS's future, land had to be sold and staff changes had to be made. None of the changes could have been easy. I look forward to what the Lord has planned for RCS.

Riverside Christian is an outstanding school system. My children benefit from many programs and activities that can only be found in our region at RCS. The leadership that is in place is charting a course to provide for our children's finest future, and all in a setting that intentionally places Christ at the center of the educational experience. The academic program allows for many differences in learning styles and abilities, including considerations for students who have learning challenges, and there are few Christian schools in our area that admit such students. The school is biblically-minded and forward-thinking. It is moving ahead in huge ways for our kids, like the 1:1 iPad program for kids in middle school and high school next year, the space station program, a new robotics program, dance, missions, athletics including football, and a great plan for a new campus which we need. RCS has great kids and parents, committed and dedicated and qualified teachers, and principals and staff members who lead with faith and conviction. The superintendent is providing the vision and leadership needed to enable the school - God's school - and our kids to grow together. We love RCS.

I had my daughter in RCS since middle school (7th grade). She loved everything about RCS during that time. Then we found out her middle school was for sale, that made me wonder of RCS future, yet the tuition was increasing.Ive seen and heard alot of changes with a new superintendent in the past two years, now the latest news almost a dozen staff are gone. What does this tell me about the future of RCS,my childs education now that shes in high school. My daughter during her 9th grade year told me she felt her teachers werent really teaching her what she wanted to know,at times she had different teachers or she had to pretty much teach herself. feel the school has lost that family feeling since the new superintendent and all changes. They should let the parents vote on the changes since we are the ones who pay...

My husband and I have had our three children enrolled in the Riverside Christian School system from the time each child was of preschool age. Over the past four years our children have been taught by loving teachers who have used a Christian curriculum. It is important to my husband and I that our children receive a Christ centered education. I also enjoy the after school programs, which include choir, piano, Kung Fu, ballet and much more. As a working parent I find comfort in knowing that my children are safe, loved, encouraged, a high academic standard is in place, and after school enrichment is offered. I would recommend RCS to any parent!

This was my daughters first year at RCS Preschool. I research the local preschools around Riverside & Corona a year before she was ready. My sister worked at several preschools both Christian & Government & out of all of them she says RCS is by far the best. She married & moved out of the state but is planning to come back so her son can attend RCS. Although she insisted I enroll my girls at RCS I still did my research by asking other moms from my MOPs group, church, took campus tours, searched the internet & prayed about it. There were other school I did consider but I know the Lord lead us to RCS. I am very pleased. They love & take wonderful care of the kids. RCS has a great student teacher ratio, curriculum, activities, Tot-University, etc. My daughter loves her webby dance class. I am amazed at everything she learns. Each day after school she teaches what she learns to her younger sister who now is enrolled for next year. This is where I want my girls to graduate from. The Elementary & Secondary are doing such great things. They sent 2 experiments to the international space station & have implemented Ipad technology. I Highly recommend RCS. I want everyone to attend. :)

I fell in love with RCS when I was a substitute teacher for them in 2001-2002, and then taught there from 2002-2004. What I loved most about the school was how much the teachers genuinely LOVED the students, the Lord and their passion about teaching. I eventually got a fulltime teaching job in public school as they had no openings in the field that I wanted to teach. When I had children I knew that public school wasn't for my kids and that the only place I would send them would be to RCS. My kids started in preschool and kindergarten and I have been so pleased with everything. The superintendent and principal lead with an open door policy and most importantly with the Lords guidance. I also love the teachers and families that have been brought into our lives because of attending RCS!

I have had 4children go through RCS(starting in grades 6,4,2,&1). We were very fortunate to have, for the most part, kind and loving teachers. I won't say everything was perfect, but no place is. I believe involved parenting is important no matter where your child is,and children need to learn how to deal with all types of people. It is a parent's job to help them through it, not avoid it completely. At the time my children attended, the staff may not have been credentialed but they had big hearts and were concerned with the students spiritual life. The school has gone through some things in the last few years. I knew that God needed to bring the school to it's knees and the repair takes time. He is not done working at RCS. In my family of 4children, their education readied them for 3 out of 4 makings Dean's List Honors though out their college years.1 has 2Master degrees, 1 has 2 special Ed degrees and a Masters and 1 is working on a credential and Masters. 1teaches at a university and a college, one is teaching and coaching at the college level and 1 is teaching in high school and one is director of education at a learning center. RCS had a large part in making it happen!

My son attended RCS from third through fifth grade after the private school he previously attended for K-second closed its doors. To put it in the politest terms possible, if RCS offered my daughter a free education at their school I would tell them NO! The majority of the staff are some of the most "UnChristian" Christians I have ever met!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only parent who can see the "facade" that this school and it's staff puts on. It is pitiful! After long and difficult days at work, to pay for the overcharged and undereducated staff, I had to come home and do the teachers job of teaching my child only to find out that the entire class was behind the local public schools. If you are a parent who genuinely wants a better education for your child, DO NOT choose this school!!!!

I have 3 children attending Riverside Christian. Each one of them love it. The school teaches respect, love and caring. Of course they also teach math, reading, writing, etc... I would highly recommend this school to anyone that is looking for a great environment for their children to learn and make great influences for the rest of their lives. Remember that parents need to a part of a child's education and that is encouraged at this school. Keep up the good work!

My child attends RCS for 8+ years. It used to be a good Christian school. Now, it's completely different. I'm not going to comment further about how they treated my child. They were cruel. I've had enough with RCS and am pulling my kid out of that school this year. My child will attend a better Christian school where they will give lots of respect and love for my child. I noticed that Riverside Christian Schools changed the system not like before. Also I heard so many parents pull their kids out of this school and transferred to Riverside Christian Day Schools which one is really best school as Woodcrest Christian System.

Great school for lower grades...My sons attended Pre K-3. Preschool was excellent. My son felt loved and accepted and enjoyed going to school everyday. He learned lots of bible stories, memory verses, and could read and write before he entered Kindergarten.Thank you RCS preschool for being a godly example for my sons. Grades K-2 went well and he was reading about two grade levels above his grade level. He also learned his math facts very well however his teacher was mean, sarcastic, and demeaning at times. Whenever I talked to the teacher about the situation she was always unwilling to acknowledge or help my son without being demeaning. I spoke to the principle and he wasn't interested in helping either. Lastly, RCS is lacking a writing curriculum, when myself and other parents spoke to the principle regarding getting a writing curriculum through PTO the principle was annoyed and uninterested.

I have had two kids go through RCS and both received academic scholarship and a sports scholarship, and gone on to graduate with a masters degree from USC. So to the parent who posted on June 15th 2009 you must be having a bad day RCS staff puts God first in all that they do. Great sports program in M.S. and H.S. and excellent staff with and outstanding M.S. principal. So for those choosing RCS for your children you will be blessed.

dont be fooled by the staff nor the students most of it a facade in order to obtain your pay check. through the increased prices as your child progresses to the decreased intelligence of high school teachers. Your child will be introduced into a society where there is "Christianity involved campus" but in all reality each student could care less about a higher form of deity or religion, because in reality one can not push a child towards a religion. How cab u support such accusations, by letting you know that i was in fact a student there from pre school through 10th grade.

I'm not too happy. My child continues to get straight A's throughout the year, yet she is below average when it comes to SAT's. I have had extensive meetings with the teachers and not one of them can tell me why my child is doing so poorly with the SAT's. The teachers also tell me not to worry about it and not to take the test so seriously. I'm looking for a new school.

My daughter is a junior in HS this year and has been at RCS since she was 3 years old. The staff and teachers have been wonderful over the years. Not only are they professional caring individuals they are loving people. My daughter could contact any one of them after hours for help in anything and they would respond with their help. My daughter is in the 6th and she has 6 science projects for the year. She has hours of homework. As for the comment on learning by rote only......the math alone is critical and the girls on my street that are a grade or two higher can not do her math. The public schools rarely give homework. My daughter scored top 1% in SAT tests.

My son went to RCS through graduation from High School, and he has turned out to be a fantastic, capable, highly moral man. He is now at the University of California, and doing quite well. RCS provided a very stable environment where he was able to excel. The sports program was wonderful, and the teachers were caring and supportive. It was worth every penny (and, you can do the math!) to protect our child from the influences in public schools. We will never regret it and will be eternally grateful.

My daughter has attended this elementary schoo for three years. Overall it has been a positive experience. The teachers have been loving, caring, and knowledgeable. My area of concern is their philosophy of education. They emphasize through the ABEKA curriculum very low level thinking skills. It is basically recall only. They rarely do science experiments and virtually no hands on learning whatsover. It is read the book, answer the questions. This is not the best way for children to learn. I have very positive things to say about the school and staff in general and my child's character is much more Christ like being here then when in public school. That being said, they need to relook at the curriculum and not just choose curriculum because it is Christian based, but because it engages the learner to think, apply and synthesize information.

RCS has an excellent elementary school but below average to poor middle school. My kids have attended RCS since kindergarten and the experience at the elementary level was great. The teachers were dedicated and very responsive to the students needs and accessible to the parents. Middle school has not been a good experience. It has been frustrating and a disappointment. Most of the teachers are evasive and difficult to contact. Some classes use old text books that are falling apart. The teachers always seem to be on the move and have little to no time for the parents. Now there are a few teachers that are professional and responsive to their students needs. I found these teachers to be mostly in the 6th grade. The middle school has very strict rules of conduct and they are enforced rigorously by the principal. So there is a sense of discipline and what one would imagine or want in a private school. Aside from that, though, the quality of education that one would expect from a private Christian school is absent.

The middle school does not really provide Christ-like role modeling in my opinion. It is more a school that educates and adds a little God in the program, instead of a school that is centered on Christ in all ways. The middle school teachers don't pray with the kids on a regular basis, and they seem to allow secular entertainment in the school instead of teaching the kids to, 'Not love the world or the things in the world,' as the bible directs us in John. I want to find a more Christ centered school in town, but there really is no better choice in this area. Very sad, as middle school is the time these kids are really battling the world's influence. This school needs to bring in more true sold-out for Christ teachers, instead of the luke warm believers it has at this time.

Regarding the 2-2-08 posting, my experience with RCMS has been the complete opposite. I would like to go into all the details, but I am only allowed 150 words. The bottom line is that RCMS has helped us to turn our troubled son completely around. The principal there has shown consistent love for him through Christ. Any discipline has been Christian based and is always geared toward teaching and restoration. He has gone from a failing student with behavorial problems, to an honor student with great citizenship. Personally, I mainly credit the principal for her outstanding leadership. She has made our son feel loved, respected and safe. The academic education he has received is outstanding! He is thriving there. The entire staff works together to provide an incredible environment for learning. I have always had immediate communication, and great results.

My son went to this school from preschool to 1st grade. I absolutely would not recommend this school. Teachers have little to no compassion if your child is having difficulties. They are very quick to say ADD, instead of finding a way to improve a childs learning. Administration also backs up teachers and do not care about parent concerns. My only regret was not pulling my son out sooner.

My son has attended RCS for the past seven years. We have found the teachers and administration to be helpful, loving, and caring. My son does have difficulties in some learning areas; however, with an understanding principal and a loving staff he has developed into a fine young man. My daughters attended another local Christian school and had a limited amount of care and concern. However, when I moved my youngest daughter to RCHS several years ago, the care, love, and education was top quality! She graduated from college with honors! I know my son will have the same experience!

I have two children enrolled. A junior and a 6th grader. They have been here for four years. The teachers are exceptional, competent people who sincerely love the kids. I am very happy with the quality of the academics, there is a fair amount of sports and such, the security and care for the children is very good. Parents have alot of opportunity to participate, staff is sincerely interested in the student population and love in Christ is always a part of the day. I love each elementary teacher we have had but Mrs. Manning is a real jewel. She is hard but to the great benefit of the children and she really cares about the kids. Great school, growing too fast, lucky to be a part of it.

My children have attended RCS for the last two years. I really have been impressed with their curriculum that they apply. My 3rd grader was required to learn an instrument while in other Christian schools this was not a requirement and I believe that this is great for all children to learn. They also offer.other programs past the third grade for them to participate. The Junior high area is wonderful and my 7th grader did a wonderful job at RCS. They do have a great program and the teachers at this school are great and really care about their students.

Riverside Christian Schools has provided both a a sound academic and Christian education to our two children who have attended RCS elementary for four years, with our 3rd child (3 1/2 year old) enrolled in the pre-school program. My wife and I have found the administration to be very responsive to the students and parents needs, and the teachers are nothing short of outstanding. Like with any school that has seen it's student body enrollment grow considerably over the last few years, there are some minor growing pains. However, all in all the school has responded very well to this growth and we are quite pleased and very much blessed to have enrolled our children at RCS. As such, I would without hesitation, recommend RCS to any parent who is serious about obtaining for their children, a solid education in a Christian environment and with solid Christian principles.

This is the best school in the Inland Empire. My daughter has attended this school for 2 years. My daughter has ADHD and the school tries very hard to accomodate her needs. They are extremely positive about each and every student. I highly recommend this school.

This is a great school, they really seem to work with the parents. I have a 4th grader and a 6th grader that attend and another who has a year to go before entering Preschool. Just a tip, Mrs. Manning is the hardest teacher for 6th grade, if you have a student that is very responsible or enjoys a challenge, this is the teacher for them.
