Rancho Vista is a parent participation school. It gives parents a chance to interact with the kids at school and meet their friends and classmates.
A fantastic school. Principal takes care of business and listens to parent's, kid's concerns and appreciates all the help parents give her. She enforces zero bullying policy 100 percent. 4th grade has been a wonderful experience for my child and he has all 3 of the teachers each day. PTA provides great field trips, assemblies, art and music programs. PTA proactive and always lots to do there. Only downside is if this isnt your home school,(and your child gets in per lottery) your child may be separated from his RV friends by going to different middle school. Also w/ baseball you may not be able to play on same team as RV friends. I love the school, but these last 2 factors still haunt me a bit. I do highly rec the school- mostly great teachers and parents. Nice kids. Beautiful landscaping- a nice overall environment for elementary school.
Great school. Very challenging curriculum, outstanding teachers, engaged families and lots of extracurricular activites for the kids.
I have had nothing but a positive experience at Rancho Vista. It is a warm, friendly environment for my children to learn in. They love their teachers. There is a strong academic program and many supporting extracurricular activities - Spanish and Performing Arts to name a few. The program is further enriched by the parent participation aspect. All around this is a fabulous school!
I am please to say my child had a good experience while attending Rancho Vista. His 1st grade teacher was excellent in motivating, instructing, and teaching her students on a wide range of curriculum. This school is very good at high cutting edge instruction. The school grounds are meticulously clean and in well repair. There is one shortfall however I did not feel the full support of the principal as there were many instances where she needs improvement. Her leadership style is one of passive. I would have liked to see more involvement from her both in and out of the classroom. The parent support is good but could be improved to assist with hard to fill positions like the PE teacher slot! This school is is desperate need of upgrading its outdoor recreational supplies I.E. Basketballs, Soccer equipment etc. Overall I think with a few changes this school is Outstanding.
The school's parent particpation program is excellent. It has great parent and teacher cooperation. It is very diverse and active with community involvement.
We are so pleased with the school, the staff, the PTA, and all the parent participation we experience. Rancho Vista also takes pride in their appearance and the kids benefit from this as well.
This year Rancho Vista has started a new parent participation program. Parents contribute 8 hours/mo of their time (in or out of classroom), and in exchange, we get Spanish 3x/wk, a 'full day' kindergarten, lower student:teacher ratio in kindergarten than elsewhere in the district, and all the wonderful things that come from being involved in your children's education. There are so many neat things going on at this school and it's thanks to the great parents we have. This is a great program that I believe will only get better as it grows into its potential.
