My family has been blessed beyond measure by the opportunity to be part of the Adventure Christian School Family. My children have attended ACS since preschool and now I have one entering the junior high. Each year has provided growth both academically and spiritually. The staff is well educated, qualified and demonstrate love for all students. The teachers are also well supported by administration. ACS has small class sizes, teaching assistants, a beautiful facility and collaboration amongst teachers. In addition, they offer special classes that are being cut from many public school programs such as, computers, science, Spanish, P.E. and music. ACS offers an excellent and competitive education. In talking with parents of graduates it is great to hear how well prepared and successful they are. These graduates are becoming leaders in their new schools and return often to serve and support ACS long after graduating. I believe that is because ACS is more than a school, it is family. I agree with the previous review. We have invested wisely in our children's education. Worth every PENNY and more!

This will be our children's sixth year attending Adventure Christian School. At first we intended only to enroll in their preschool program but loved the school and the way each teacher / aide loved on our children. My children are challenged each and every day... Our intention is to keep our children at Adventure through 8th grade...keeping our fingers crossed for the addition of a high school! It is worth very PENNY!!!!

Worth every PENNY and more! We could not be more blessed than to have found a school like Adventure. We find such value in that their test scores are compared to the National Average, (not just to performance in the state of California which ranked 30th in the nation in 2011 if you do your research). While at Adventure, our children have been encouraged to grow spiritually while being taught strong academics. I was surprised to read what the person wrote below because that was not our experience at all. It was my understanding that private schools are not required to have credentialed teachers and being a family of Adventure for many years now, over 90% of Adventure's teachers are credentialed - something we looked at as well. The school is a private Christian school, so I expect Christan character traits such as faithfulness, diligence, forgiveness, and grace to be taught. Thank you Adventure for providing a place for my kids to be challenged in their academics without compromising the loving and encouraging atmosphere kids need to be surrounded by to thrive.

This school is a complete waste of money! They act like they have a top notch education but they have a lower standard of education than the public schools. They keep talking about giving "grace" to the students but all they are doing is raising a bunch of undereducated, unprepared students for high school and college. Kids are passed to the next grade when they shouldn't be. The teachers, some who have credentials and some don't, are very weak and more worried about hurting the kids' feelings rather than teaching them. They actually don't use red pens to mark papers because they say that it is too "negative" and they don't want to hurt the kids' feelings. I have had experiences when a teacher has given "grace" on tests and homework so as not to hurt the feelings. How are kids supposed to learn like this?? I have spoken to other parents who have had the same experiences and are pulling their kids out too. I pay the expensive tuition for my child to be educated and prepared for the real and competitive world. I don't want "grace". Not worth the money they charge. Turns out the local charter and public schools in the area having a better eduation and are free!

We have had a wonderful experience at Adventure. The staff is very qualified and loves the kids. The new building and expanded computer technology is amazing. Any issues we have had generally have more to do with parent's who don't understand that this is a Christian school, not a just a "private" school and there is a statement of faith that is more than just a piece of paper you sign to get your child in....I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a warm, loving environment for your child to develop their minds and their spiritual growth.

Adventure Christian is absolutely amazing. Our kids have grown leaps and bounds since we started attending this school. Our children's teachers are so informative, loving and truly care about our kids. The admin staff is just as amazing as the teachers. There are so many opportunities for parents to be involved. ACS has been one of the biggest blessings!

Sadly, my family has been through a very negative enrollment process ending with the rejection of my son from Kindergarten, before they even started, for not being qualified!?! I do not support redshirting and really know the ability of my child. Though the facility is nice there seems to be a very obvious bias. Please beware when searching for the best school, they definitely did not have a family structured environment to support the children.

We are so blessed to have found this school. We could not ask for a better school for our son. They have a very high level of education and are so much ahead of the other schools in our area. We also just adore the teachers and the staff. They really go above and beyond to make sure that our child is happy and taken care of. They really care about the parents and families. We know that our son is going to have a well-rounded experience at this school. We were also so excited to find out that they will be building a high school builidng as well! We are going to be an ACS family until our son is ready to go to college!

We have been so thrilled with Adventure Christian preschool! I did so much research before sending my son to his first year of preschool, and I could not have been more impressed with the school. The loving teachers, Christian teachings, academic lessons, social interaction and overall program amazed us in every way. It was an easy decision to put my daughter there a few years later, and we have been more than pleased again. What a great foundation for my children and their education!

Adventure is an amazing school. The administration are friendly and approachable. We have been there for nine years and are very pleased overall with the school. They have started after school activities, a computer lab, instraments, an art docent program and many more things. The preschool prepared our children in a wonderful balance of academic and fun. No wonder they were voted the best school in Placer County.

Adventure Christian Preschool provided a loving, nurturing and faith based environment for my daughter. Her teacher was amazing as well as the entire administrative staff. Their program has prepared my child well for kindergarten, while at the same time provided her with an environment that encourages free play and exploring. Adventure is a solid preschool with a well qualified and professional staff that I could entrust with the care of my child.

Adventure needs to get their act together. We have loved our teachers, but the administration is sorely lacking. Decisions are made based on the administrator's whims, there is no board, and the church pastor is 'unavailable' to discuss the school with parents. The academic curriculum is seriously lacking, not to mention the lack of technology. In a nut shell, the public schools in our area are way ahead of Adventure academically, technologically and in terms of extra curricular activity. We are missing an art program and a music program that includes learning intruments and the fundamentals of music, not just rehearsing songs for the two annual musical productions. The teachers are warm and wonderful, the chapel service is excellent. However, I think we will be sending our children to a public school next year and supplementing their Bible learning with AWANAS, Sunday school and home teaching. We'll save our $$$$.

After six years at this school, we have decided not return. The teachers are good; however, there is no school board to oversea academic decisions. The decisions are made exclusively by the administrator, with limited input from teachers or parents. The environment is limiting to creative learning. There are very few opportunities for drama and music, and most of those are taken by their staff kids. While the academics are good through about 2nd grade, they are severely limited after that. There are no bathroom facilities for grades pre-K though 3rd grade. This has caused many 'accidents' because the students can only use the bathrooms at the church building.

I love my children's school! The teachers and office staff is amazing - very friendly and concerned about each child. My kids are not only learning strong academic skills, they are developing life-long character traits and deep understanding of fundamental Biblical truths. I would recommend this school to anyone that desires a quality academic and Christian education for their child.

As far as principal leadership, I feel it is wonderful. The teachers are qualified and very involved with the success of the children. Safety and discipline is superb. The area this school is lacking in is extracurricular activities. There are basically none. Some music and that is about it. And no computer labs at this time. Overall it is a very supportive and loving environment for children. I wish the school went through 12th grade.

The preschool program at Adventure is awesome! We just finished the year with Mrs. Fritz and Mrs. Snyder, and I cannot say enough about the two of them. They are an amazing team... So loving, nurturing, and caring. My child loves her teachers, and my husband and I do too!

We have three children at Adventure, and we have five years of experience with this school. We are pleased with the caring and nurturing displayed by the teachers and aides. We can tell that the teachers love our children, and for that, we are blessed. However, I believe the school is lacking in some areas: 1. technology--there are no computers for the children to use. 2. discipline--lack of consistency. Each teacher does things differently. 3. developmentally appropriate curriculum in the preschool--it seems that they are trying to teach too much, too soon. 4. gender equity--the boys seem to get away with a lot more than the girls do. Aggressive behavior by boys is dismissed as 'boys being boys,' whereas aggressive acts by girls are not tolerated. Despite these shortcomings, I would not hesitate to suggest Adventure to any family looking for a loving environment for their child(ren).

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
