Two Rivers is ok as NUSD schools go. We moved my son over to NUSD from Twin Rivers USD when NUSD went to "fuill day" Kindergarten. We love his teacher, Ms Nickless. she really cares bout the kids and not in a mushy mushy way. She is loving yet firm. Like that. My son was sad to leave his friends and school at Twin Rivers USD but has grown in leaps and bounds through his KInder experiences. My complaint is directed not at the teachers or the curriculum but at the "management". Not happy with the new principal. Never see her interact with the kids, in the classroom or at after school events. She does not seem to have her HEART in it!? Why? MY son's former Principal, Micheal Reed, loved interacting with the students: jog-a-thon, Harvest festival etc. He was/is GREAT!
Great school, great principal, involved parents, many opportunities for enrichment and creativity... Teachers go above and beyond. The school continues to make great strides in technology and academics.
WE love this school! My son is the special education preschool, and it has been such a wonderful experience. He has grown socially and developmentally this year. The teacher and the aids are encouraging, professional, supportive, and dedicated.
We love this school! Our son has attended Two Rivers from K thru 2nd grade and we have loved all 3 of his teachers. Class sizes are small, a GATE program has been introduced, an after school enrichment program was recently introduced, and the parents and PTA are really involved with supporting all of our children. Also love the principal and the new librarian. Our son (and his parents) are extremely happy with Two Rivers.
Classes are relatively small and teachers are very involved and passionate about teaching. They have also started to bring more technology into the classrooms which I think makes Two Rivers more competitive with public and private schools.
I am so very disappointed in Two Rivers Elementary School. My child has been attending there since 2nd grade when I heard they had an amazing Learning Center. The LC is above and beyond. The problem is that there is nothing done about bullying and parents of the fearful child are asked to minimize their time on campus cause the child needs to learn these conflict skills for their future school years. The school district does not take action except phone calls to the school. I am removing my child from this school for her safety. I am sad to take her from the best special ed teachers we have ever met.
My children are new to the school and so far they are very happy and enjoy their teachers and classroom experiences.
Two Rivers is the best elementary school in Natomas. It is a safe school, the Principal, Doctor Segovia -Hale always makes sure gates are closed & children are supervised. My children's teachers (Mrs. Nickless & Mrs.Irby) care about them and teach them what they need to learn to be successful. Two Rivers has high academic & behavior expectations. I highly recommend Two Rivers!
My children came to Two Rivers from Witter Ranch. What a difference a Principal makes! My kids have had Mrs. Nickless and Ms. O'Connor. I believe Tr. C has the most highly qualified and dedicated teachers. It is more than just a job, these teachers are called to teach our children. The Principal is young and LOVES the children. She always welcoming children with her big smile. She speaks Spanish, too. Two Rivers has been a positive place for my children. If you want your child to be in a school that believes in your child and has high expectations Two Rivers is the place to be.
I have 2 children at Two Rivers, one in Mrs. Irby's class and one in Ms. Baggett & Ms. Pagan's class. I believe these are the hardest working teachers at the school. They always go above & beyond their regular responsibilities. The new Principal Dr. Segovia-Hale is really great! She connects with the kids & genuinely listens. Two Rivers is the best school !!
Two Rivers is the best elementary school in Natomas USD. It is a year round school which promotes on-going learning opportunities. Most of the teachers really go above above and beyond to help kids succeed. The principal Amanda Segovia-Hale is awesome. She is in the classrooms, in the lunch room and her door is always open. Yhe kids love Otter Be Good lunch with the Principal.
We love Two Rivers! Our daughter has attended since Kindergarten. She is now in 3rd Grade and excelling in all topics. Her Star Testing scores were well above 400- I attribute my daughters success to the atmoshpere of the school- the teachers are like a big family-they really care about what is happening with each student. Computers are important along with real life applications like handeling money. The other reason I think my daughter is so secure at school is the fact that they keep the kids together through each grade. It is nice to be able to relate to her when she talks about her friends at school.
I am a single, working mother of two. I enrolled my 1st and 5th grade daughters in this school in the Fall of 2007 and received excellent teachers for both girls. My 5th grader was very weak in math and language arts going in and made Honor Roll going out. I give a lot of credit to the teacher, Jerry Lovejoy, for his dedication and 'work with' attitude. The Two Rivers discipline system is terrific and encourages responsibility and accountability. The homework tracking system in the school is excellent and helped me to keep on top of my girls' homework assignments (prior to Two Rivers, my 5th grader used to claim that she had no homework--yeah, right!). The principal is a good administrator and engenders school spirit while promoting strong values around citizenship, teamwork, and academic excellence. The school staff is very responsive. My experience with the school was outstanding.
My 3 children attended this school last year for 3 months. It was the best school they have been to. The teachers are GREAT Mr. Linkin,& Mrs. Tamar were wonderful. I couldn't believe that when I called the school the office (which the staff is also terrific) would put me right through to the class n I could speak to my children. The 3 of them grew so much and learned a lot there.
My son is in Kindgergarten at Two Rivers, and he just loves it. So far our experience has been very positive. The principal is very involved and visible on campus which is refreshing to see.
I have 3 children at two rivers right now. They are all doing really well and love to go to school. The principal is terrific, listens to complaints and finds a good solution to the problem every time. The discipline meted out fits the crime all the time. This is my children's second year here and every teacher has been awsome. Even if I don't agree with something I have been able to talk to the teacher and work it out. The teachers for the most part welcome parent participation in the class and I regularly see other parents participating when I do. I have experienced much support and encouragement as a parent at this school. Live is not always easy and I can count on two rivers being a place that my kids feel safe and welcomed at. I appreciate the hard work of the staff of two rivers elementary school, thank you!
Our daughter began pm kindergarten in track D this year and she/we love it! Her teacher does an excellent job making kindergarten a fun experience for a wide range of academic levels. She is not only learning, but making many friends and learning to love school. There are also many opportunities for parents and families to become involved with a wide range of activities. I would like to thank all the staff of Two Rivers for being dedicated and hard working professionals!
My son has been at this school for 5 years, since Kindergarten. All of the teachers have been very involved with each and every student. The yard duties are excellent and take good care of the kids during recess. They always have extracurricular activites like science camps, art, and sports. There is a high level of parent involvement at this school. You really get to know the teachers that your child has as long as you stay involved. The teachers feel appreciated and really enjoy parent participation in all grade levels.
