This school has always gained a good reputation in my neighborhood. It has been through a lot, and yes it is old, but it continues to be diverse and confident in maintening a good atmosphere for my children.

I was a student at Foothill and now that I am gone my sister is a student, and it looks like foothill is changing for the worse. It has been having problems with test scores since I've been there and still is. Some of the teachers are wonderful, but there are just as many that don't do their jobs whatsoever. There aren't many options for extracurriculars unless the student is interested in science. The school does have classes to meet all the A-G requirements, and a few extra science classes, and very little for students interested in the humanities. The club scene was not particularly active, except the german club, and few student events were held when I went there. Howevver, the students do stand up for themselves where they can when the administration is unfairto the students and some of the beloved teachers. Overall, the school is not very academically minded, but the students do have (mostly) okay relationships with eachother and some of the teachers, but all the same, I'm glad to have graduated. It si going through some changes that are very odd and I think impractical, so it's a school to watch and see what happens before making a big decision on it.

What can I say? Most people here look out for each other. It is very diverse so don't be shocked if your child ends up learning a bit of russian, mienh, german, or spanish. There are school wide events such as the International Econ Summit and international week (especially German day). There are college prep classes required to graduate from here such as typing. Students are very close. When something isn't liked there is a protest (usually for the rights of a teacher or a student). Wide variety of AP courses including Biology. Want to cut open a cow heart? Yeah they have anatomy as well! Special 'academy' puts focus on technology.
