this is the worst school ever. they do absolutely nothing for kids getting buliied. they act like they care when you go up there to talk to them. I have had so many confrontations with them due to them not doing anything about my son getting bullied. I wish my son didn't have to go to this HORRIBLE school. They don't do there jobs they just get paid to do nothing
This site must not be updated often, just like the school. It's 6th thru 12th grades. Outdated classroom equipment, lack of athletic facilities and what they do have is decrepid and condemned, no music classes, extracurricular activities are offered during lunch so kids have to chose one or the other. They don't even have every class 5 days a week, sometimes only 3 or 4 days per week!! Some teachers don't assign homework because they "just don't get it back".
I have never dealt with such rude unprofessional counseling and register staff Have a great day!
I look forward to volunteering at Encina every year! I love their staff and have been pleased with their efforts and the growth they have and are striving for. I always can depend on calls for upcoming events and if their are any issues related to the school or my child.
Encina is a really good school and i feel that it's been streorytyped. The teachers really do care about there students and there's alot of one on one time due to the small class sizes. I transfered from El Camino my junior year and i feel that I'm finally getting the education i desreved.
The teacher do care about students but the enviroment of school is not like mst fights is involved there and there is a lack of good and well behaved student.
This is a Great School and there are a lot of different nationalities and great intelligent students in this school.
I feel that Encina is an all right school. The teachers very much do care and try very hard to teach. One teacher especially Mrs. Begg, my Honors English teacher. We are now creating a campaign to make the school lunches better. If the school luches were better more students would be motivated.
great teachers, very kind and involved teachers, very much stereotyped!
Poor quality of education. This school is another waste of tax dollars in the San Juan USD. Parental involvement by the administration is not well received at all. I wonder if they have any sort of 'plan' at all.
This school is dedicated to excellence and supporting all students in the learning process. The teachers are well trained and are heavily involved in their students' lives.
I feel encina could benefit from having more funds put into their school. The students are lacking in their sports quality of coaches which if the student is a well rounded athlete this could hinder his chances for a athletic scholorship. The uniforms are non-existent which affects the spirit and attitude of the players, the freshmans haved no cheerleading squad. Academics I feel the fact that there are four classes instead of 6 makes the time allotted for learning individual subjects shorter.
My opinion is that it is not one of the better schools in this area. there is a low level of parental involvement. and academics is somewhat lower than the other schools in this area.
Encina High does not have a good learning environment. Parental involvment is greeted with skepticism. discipline is a large problem.
I am currently A student at Encina and I think that there are a few teachers at this school that really care about the success of their students. I know that there is talk about how low our test scores are and everything but I honestly do not believe that we are below other schools. I think that one of the reasons we are considered a 'low performance' school is the way we get tested. Considering that we are on a block schedule we do not get the same chance to be tested right after after we take the class that we are being tested on. Unlike other schools who take the same classes all year long. Although I do think that we have many dedicated teachers. There are some who just dont care. Overall I think that Encina is an alright school. But could be improved.
