La Paz Middle School has highly qualified and very dedicated teachers to their profession. Teachers at La Paz do only show excellence in their classrooms but also excellence in activities beyond teaching students. Three of La Paz teachers are recipient of the Ercia Harden Teaching Excellence Awards given by the Harden Foundation of the Salinas Valley in collaboration with Hartnell College. La Paz has been a shining star in teaching excellence among the middle schools in Monterey county for three consecutive years.
For a mainstream English proficient student, this is a great school. The school has one of the highest percentages of National Board Certified Teachers (28%) of any middle school in the state. Students are routinely challenged in English, science, and math classes.
La Paz is a beautiful new campus with dedicated teachers and a dedicated administration.
