I have been a teacher at Santa Rita for 13 years. My job is to teach intervention level of 2nd language learners at our school. Five years ago I made the choice to have my daughter attend Santa Rita with me instead of the higher achieving school near our home. Over the years our principal and team of teacher leaders have put in countless hours to focus on how we can continue to improve our school and best teach all of our students regardless of their learning abilities. The fact that my child has scored consistently at the top the STAR Test reflects 2 things about Santa Rita; first, the academic pacing in her classes has ensured that the difficult state standards have been taught and second, that any child with parent's that support their learning can succeed at our title 1 school.

I am a former teacher at Santa Rita Elementary School, and I consider it to be home. As a parent of three grown children and a foster parent to many others, and having worked with other schools in the state, I believe the staff at Santa Rita is one of the finest. Mr. Garcia holds his staff, his students, and his students to the highest standards. My life circumstances prevent me from being at Santa Rita, but I hold the school community near and dear to my heart. Sincerely, M.A. Scott

The staff at Santa Rita don t care about your child s welfare. Just today (10/15/04) a 6 year old first grader was allowed to leave the school. This accident has happened three times before the prior year. Do to kind parents the child is okay. But what if that child was your child, and not my sisters? How would it make you fill if the Principle blamed the whole mess on you the parent, even though you have done everything to punish her? I seriously recommend you to Skip over this school.
