I note that there is no place to agree or disagree with the post (stars, thumbs up/down, comments, etc.). Cajon's profile is lacking: -more sports than listed (last year they were bumped up a league because they were winning almost all of the sports championships) -choirs, guitar classes, strings, band, drum-line and IB Music -MYP/IB program to advanced students -AVID -CAHSEE support classes -Special Ed/SDC/RSP support and classes -language support to students and parents who are just learning English -a massive amount of extra-curricular classes: auto shop, wood shop/cabinetry, a restaurant program, music/theatre/film classes, special classes with science labs held at CSU San Bernardino, Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial, Speech and Debate, French/German/Spanish classes, computing classes, and more. This is a great school in a very economically depressed and culturally/racially diverse neighborhood. Every year Cajon High School sends kids to Ivy League schools AND local colleges. I am proud that my kids had the privilege to attend Cajon.
The school only has 2 good things about it thats the bacaloureat program and some athletics most kids drop out of the bacalouriat program anyway because its to difficult and the schools got roach problems
I love this school it is the best great music program great athletic skills this school has best school ever
this school is the best school my sister goes there and its the best school there is
I am a student there now and I believe that the programs, sports and academic wise, are the best in the district. But kids just have to stay focused;it's not the admin's or teacher's responsibility to keep them in line. Otherwise, you can pretty much do whatever you want. There are RARELY any fights or anything like that, and it's a really friendly, smart, school.
Im a freshman at Cajon High School and this is the best high school in the district! The staff is awesome! Your kid needs to attend here!
cajon is definitely not the best school in the nation, not even in california; but it is doing better than the other schools in our district at the moment. the teachers actually care about the students-something i have found hard to find at the other schools in the county- and i personally know all the counselors and what they are best-known for because they are just that involved. it is not up to the faculty if a student requests help or receives the wrong attention; they can offer to intercede and comfort, but, seriously, some people just need to grow up. i commend my school for its efforts and, in the most annoying cheerleading voice ever, i scream 'go cowboys!'
Although the school is great for the IB program and all, administration does not care for the performing arts and every year it seems that it has become a priority to get rid of the performing arts ....a school is nothing without the arts and Cajon will deteriorate if this continues....
I graduated from this school in 2007 and out of all the high schools in the SBCUSD, Cajon is definitely number one in both academia and sports. Now when I say academia I mean the IB program. I highly recommend this school for anyone living in SB
I realize Cajon is known for their academics, but for the children who struggle there seems to be no answers. Support from counselors were of no help at home and at time they seemed to be disconnected from the situation while talking to them
Cajon is definitely not that bad of a school. I blame to poor reputation of the parents. Some kids behave horribly and the teachers and principals are expected to be baby-sitters. Still, if you are considering going to Cajon from out of the district then it should be for IB classes. The college prep (poor name) courses are nothing special, similar to every other school in San Bernardino.
I love Cajon! im currently a sophmore and i cant imagine going anywhere else. Its sort of a small school but its big enough. Its really easy to get away with pretty much anything haha and the teachers dont really care, therefore if you want to succeed you have to have the motivation. If not its really easy to do whatever you want
As in a ll schools I have found that some teaches are interested in their students and some are just going through the motions. My student has found that his peers are just like the teachers. Just going thorugh the motions. Having little interest or motiavtion to complete assignments. I believe that this is because expectation are set low. I recently attended a 'College Fair' at the campus. Some of the schools listed on the agenda were not in attendance that were important to my son. I do not know why, but on the same night there was a fair at a school with higher househood incomes near by. I believe that this school should hold a trade school night in addition the college fair to meet the needs of other than college bound students. I observed students at the school seeking out their teachers for extra credit for their attendance.
Our older sons graduated from Cajon in 1997 and 1999. The youngest will graduate this year. Over the years, the academics have been consistent. The office staff is awesome! With a few exceptions, the teachers have been supportive and dedicated and very easy to contact. The athletic programs are the best in the City.
There has been a lot of theft at Cajon. My son had his gym clothes stolen 4 times and his wallet(another time). He also had a DS stolen. The P.E. classes just let the kids roam to much. They have no control. I have seen the kids standing around in hallways and even in front of school while classes are in session. They have security camera's but I do not think they use them.
I think Cajon High school is the best school compared to all the other ones located in San Bernardino, truly there are a lot of students who are involved in the school and thus the community. IB teachers defenetely help you out the most in reciving a great education it really does prepare you for college in my opinion. I am glad to be a part of this awsome school who is a school of choice! class of 2008!
Cajon High School is one of the best schools with excellent support from teachers, staff, and students. They always try to involve students in clubs, sports, and after school activities that increase their learning skills, educational performance, and even school spirit. As a student from Cajon, I would truly say, with all honor, that I am PROUD TO BE A CAJON COWBOY!! :) ~Cajon High School Senior Student - - Class of 2008!~
I think Cajon is a good school and most of the students there are learning. I wish the administration would do something about the loitering around campus.
I transferred from Redlands High to Cajon High my sophomore year. I graduated from Cajon in 2002. It may not be the best high school but its a decent one. The bars around the school at times make you feel like you're in prison but if you think about it... it's there for the students protection (it not like its located in the best of places). Plus, it's not the only school with bars. Another thing I like about Cajon High is the fact that it's the only school in the San Bernardino school district that offers the IB program (which I was in for some time). The teachers do help if you ask them to and they try their best to make you understand. Give Cajon a try. I'm glad I did!
Cajon is the best high school not only in the district, but in the Inland Empire. Their academics and athletic program is top notch. Students that want to work will succeed and others will fail. Real life experience here.
