San Bernardino High School

My son has attended his Freshman year at San Bernardino High School and so far so good. The contacts I have made with the school so far have given me a positive impression of the school overall. The teachers he has had this year seem to be encouraging and try to be involved and motivational to the students regarding pushing them toward completion of HS and on to higher learning.

SBHS has a very egnergetic principal. However, hid enrgy is unable to increase standardized test and the overwelming discipline problem.

I am a student at San Bernardino High School. I am an Avid and Honor student. Our Principal Dr. Adams really cares about the students as do the teachers. They all try their hardest to give the students the best education that they can. SBHS has many extracurricular activities to fit every students hobbies and interest. They also offer a wide variety of after school tutoring. Even though out test scores are not the best, SBHS is really 'The Very Best'!

It's quite clear that the school's academic and scholastic qualities are not as strong as they had been in past years, but this historic school has proved to be pretty darn good. My daughter, who is smart enough to be Valedictorian, had been having some trouble in school. She started her freshman year at Arroyo Valley, spent some months at Cajon and even took classes at Middle College the summer before her sophomore year. She had decided she wouldn't want to risk her sophomore year (one of the two years universities look at) at a questionable program, like MCHS, and was enrolled at San Bernardino High. Out of the four schools, SBHS, though scholarly 'well below average', has to beat the others by a mile and a half. The students in my daughters honor-roll courses are polite and very nice, indeed. Many of the teachers are very good, while others are what one may call ridiculous. SBHS must improve in many, many ways, but if one had to choose between CHS, AVHS, MCHS or SBHS, Berdoo would have to be your top pick.
