My eldest child went through K-5 at Rollingwood, and my youngest is in third grade, so I am in my seventh year as a parent at this school. I have never had any regrets sending my children here. I have a great respect for education (I have a post graduate degree) but I recognize that schools have to provide a balance of academics and life skills - Rollingwood does this very well. Both my children have had only inspirational and dedicated teachers, and show a dedication to learning as well as respect for others. My older girl was well prepared for life at middle school. The PTA is very active, and the parents show great support for it and additional programs at the school. I should also mention the problems that Rollingwood faced over the previous couple of years, where it wasn't adequately supported by the local district - last year all but one class consisted of large (31-32 students) mixed grade classes, a situation that could have been helped if the school had been given the support it needed. With its new principal, a dedicated staff, and an active body of parents who are keeping an eye on decisions made at the district, we are confident this situation won't happen again.
I have 3 children at Rollingwood, and this is our 6th year at Rollingwood. The school space is great, kids have a huge expansive yard to spread out and play, and there are plenty of classrooms to allow for Special Ed classes and After School Programs. The families at Rollingwood are some of the most friendly, down to earth people I have ever met. They are much than just "parents we've met", they have become life-long friends. Many families get together for summer vacations and day trips. Rollingwood also has great programs and amazing teachers to support all types of learners, including second-language learners, children who need additional help, and students who score above level. My children are all doing well, and are scoring well above their grade levels. The kids enjoy extras such as Garden Club, Student Council, Music, Art, PE, Field Trips, two affordable afterschool care programs, and afterschool sports right on site. Our principal is also a great leader and very dedicated. Overall, we've been extremely pleased with the education our children are getting at Rollingwood, and the fact that we've found a welcoming community of friends and parents is even better.
It is our 5th year in Rolligwood, with our youngest finally entering kindergarten this year. We all fell in love with the school, the teachers and staff, the parents, the whole community. Our older kids used to go to Happy Hall (the private after school program) and the staff there are as caring and as kind as the school staff. The music program was stopped since last year due to the budget cuts but the PE program continues mainly because the PTA decided to pay for it. A deep sense of family and camaraderie exist among the families, We have built life-long friendships with many families we met here. There are mediocre teachers and there are excellent teachers - but over-all, the kids perform excellently in their STAR Tests. Students receive a well-rounded education, not solely based on books but on experiences and character-building. The budget cuts resulted to bigger and combination classes, parents stepped in & volunteered in the classroom and in PTA events - raising funds to enable certain programs to go on, including the PE and the Learning Center (an after-school homework assistance program). At Rollingwood, children are encouraged to be RESPECTFUL, CAREFUL & SAFE.
Fabulous! The teachers are excellent. The kids stay together from kindergarten on, but they are not cliquish. They were very welcoming of my daughter, who came to Rollingwood in fifth grade. My daughter came from a less spectacular school, but she loved Rollingwood and caught up quickly, thanks to her wonderful teachers. I can't imagine a better experience for her.
I love rollingwood because of the great parent involvement and friendly enviornment. The teachers do a great job at giving the children the best education possible. Thanks again rollingwood!
I have had a child in this school continuously for 13 yrs and I have one more year to go before my youngest graduates from 6th grade. From the beginning I have always been very happy with the education my children have received. Also, I have always been willing to offer my support when ever needed because I believe in Rollingwoods ideals. The teachers, staff and PTA have always worked together to make this school a valuable part of our community.
Rollingwood is Top Notch. They have a great staff. excellent kids, and wonderful parents. Even the grandparents are a pleasure. A family enviornment with a solid foundation of learning. Their program is easy to follow, and alot of thought and effort is put into the children and their education. I love Rollingwood.
Rollingwood has a wonderful, caring staff. Great programs that get our kids excited about school.
There is a great sense of community at Rollingwood Elementary. The parents and staff are great. They create a positive environment for the students, which really gets the students excited about school. The extra programs/clubs provides great exposure for the kids to try different things.
Located in a very quiet neighborhood and for me one of the best elementary school.
Rollingwood has a great faculty who care about the kids and their education. Parent involvement is the tops!
Could not have asked for more for our kids. Teachers really care and go beyond the classroom to support their kids! The staff is supportive at all levels! What would we do without Ms. Mikulik, Mrs. Droege and Mr. Fernando! And the Parents are amazing!
We have excellent Teachers and great staff....we have wonderful PTA volunteers...and the best student participation. Our students do well on their state standardized testing.
Diverse student population; various special programs; dedicated staff; enthusiastic PTA members; different types of events to get families involved.
We have very eager, energetic and friendly students and staff. Great after school programs. Wonderful gardens. A huge playground. Overall positive atmosphere for children to grow and learn in.
Rollingwood school has a great staff that really cares about the kids and helping them succeed. Both of my kids have attended Rollingwood and thoroughly enjoyed their time there and have loved all of their teachers. I have always been very involved at the school and everyone has always been more than happy to let me be as involved as I wanted.
My children have received a great educatioin. The teachers and staff are remarkable and I love the extended community.
School Spirit never falls short at this San Bruno school. We have awesome students, great faculty and staff, and the suppport of many families! We can never hide that Bulldog Pride!!!!
Overall Rollingwood is a great start for children, both of my children are attending the school, and so far I have had good feedback, as a parent who is involve in my children's education, I am happy to share that Rollingwood welcomes parents like myself. Their website provides all the information necessary about the school, activities, calendar, handbook in which you can read about the school vision statement, teacher's e-mail address, etc. Everything on the site is important to read, I am very satisfy with the Student Appearance, great rules. Rollingwood has a strong, Principal who knows and runs well her school, she knows all the students, parents and staff. She is envolve and present at all of the activities, meetings and classrooms. She makes rounds while classes are in session, that as a parents gives me a great deal of comfort, and security, knowing that my children are safe. Most important she will spot a (cross my finger this does not happen, but now a days you never know)stranger to be around or at the school.
