Coleman Tech Charter High School

I am very pleased with Coleman tech Charter high School. My grandson has gone there for 2 yrs now and the change in his attitude is amazing. He is not a number here, he is a person with a name and ideas. He has learned that Coleman teachers care! Teachers call if there is a problem, and together, parent, student, & teacher work it out. Students learn that school can be fun and educational at the same time. I have told everyone I know about Coleman Tech Charter High School. In my opinion this is it! A safe environment, hi tech environment (way of the future), College or Trade school bound environment, and teachers & staff that care. The new building if great, it gives a sense of pride in were they attend. For the first time in 11 years he likes school.

We are very happy with Coleman Tech High School. Our daughter gets a lot of individual attention, because class sizes are small, ranging from 7 (in Physics!) to 22. The teachers care about the students and the projects are great learning experiences. They vary the methods of learning that are used which gives the students lots of practice for college. The admin knows all students by name and they are all treated well.

My Granddaughter was miserable in school prior to starting at "Coleman Tech Charter High School". She started right out of middle school this year and we have seen a major improvement in her attitude and her grades. This has been a win / win for her family we are so happy she attends Coleman.

This school has given my student excellent opportunities. He is constantly challenged academically. This school has given him the tools and support to meet and exceed each challenge. The teachers and staff go above and beyond for these students. I can already see the growth of my student, not just mentally but also in character as a result of their influence. I highly recommend this school for anyone who wants to see their child not only secede in school but in life.

Coleman received WASC accreditation in January 2012 after opening in the Fall of 2010. Accreditation is not just given to new schools when they open their doors. It must be earned through a lengthy process. And, Coleman earned it! Congratulations!.

I can't believe how people are exaggerating this school's performance and enviornment. Isn't accredited and has consistently extremely low performing test schools for two years in a row. We were going to enroll both of our sons until we found out the truth from other parents.

This school is very nice for students who have issues turning in physical assignments. That was the main issue I had, until I transfered to CTCHS where we use small notebook laptops. All of our work is done on the computer and turned in to the teacher directly from the laptop. This simple interface change allowed me to become much more productive and my GPA raised significantly. The teachers are much more then the teachers I had before, they are personal friends and I look up to them and respect them much more then I would at a typical 30 person per classroom type school. The small school environment has it's ups and downs. We are a huge family, and everyone knows each other on a personal level and no one tolerates bullying. The small school also results in unnecessary amounts of drama, where everyone knows everyones personal business. The current campus is also entirely inside and on the stressful days, it can feel like you are being trapped inside for 8 hours. This school isn't for everyone, but for those who need more personalized education and enjoy doing work on the computer, this school might be just perfect for you.

Coleman Tech's staff are outstanding. They actually care and try to motivate the students to exceed their own expectations. The goal of the teachers is not only to teach the kids now, but to prepare and encourage them to progress to college or a trade school. this school is VERY high tech (as their name implies). The kids all use netbooks. If you are looking for a otstanding school for your kid, I encourage you to call them and take a tour!

Coleman Tech Charter High School (CTCHS) offers students a private school atmosphere while remaining a free public high school in San Diego County. The school provides students with personal laptops and uses Promethean technology as well as cloud computing to put it at the forefront in technological learning. Classes are small (less than 20 students) and the school strives to give all students the ability to pursue personalized learning. This includes opportunities for students to take online classes in various subject areas as well as the ability to begin various clubs and activities that students would like to see at their school. The hallmark of the school is the advisory program. Classroom teachers work with students for the duration of their high school experience and establish personal relationships with the students. Advisers serve as the conduit between the parent and the school and closely monitor student grades and performance. Advisers also work with the students in developing skills and strategies to not only succeed in high school but beyond college as well. Students enter the school from day one knowing that they will be successful in all that they do.

The teachers are very supportive and helpful and the courses challenge you to work hard. The principal is nice, hardworking, and willing to make sure that you personally succeed. Each student is encouraged to do their best every day at school as well.

I am happy with Coleman Tech Charter High. It has a challenging curriculum that stresses excellence in its students. Our child is thriving at this school. Coleman Tech offers a uniquely different approach that incorporates technology and project based learning into its college prep program. The teachers and administrators are experienced, knowledgeable and care about their students. They also encourage parent involvement. At the end of the day, our child is happy and getting a great education.
