After looking over Dana's ratings as a result of testing scores, I thought to myself that these absolutely did not reflect the Dana Middle School that I am familiar with. My son is in the seminar program there and I have only the highest praise for all of his teachers...and for the school in general. If there is any fault to be found in these testing issues, perhaps one should look into the workings of the San Diego Unified School District and it's so called Blueprint. Perhaps these children need a more flexible curriculum, allowing for extra classes in Language arts for those who need them...allowing those who are proficient to move on to other things. The Blueprint puts our children in a 'box' and does not recognize that each child has individual needs.

I have been very involved as a parent at Dana for five years now. The administration and faculty strive for excellence and they deliver! I am very happy my daughters and I have had the opportunity to experience this great school.

My child was bored and unchallenged in regular elementary school. He now looks forward to going to school in the morning and is on the honor roll! Dana does it right.

My daughter was in one of the first 5/6th graduating classes since the school was opened and we had nothing but excellent experiences!
