I attended Horizon Christian Academy from 7th to 12th grade and I loved it. All of the staff are there for one reason- to spread God's love. If I hadn't have gone to Horizon, I would not at all be who I turned out to be today. Maybe the academic standards aren't as high as other schools but so what! The only thing that matters in our lives is our relationship with Jesus Christ and Horizon is continuously giving the kids opportunities to get to know Him better.

This is he WORST school that both of my children have ever attended, I pulled them out after their first year in the middle school. The teachers are very mean to my children. I mean, its OK to be strict, well, you need to be strict, but these teachers are MEAN. The principal was not good, he was oblivious of everythin going on at the school. My children also had problems whn they went to a public school, because the curricular standards were very high. In MY opinion, a huge waste of $7,500 per child. My kids have done much better so far in the Sweetwater District, in the South Bay area.

As a teacher, I appreciated the supportive families and sweet students. The curriculum is not comprehensive and therefore I had to supplement it with several resources I created or purchased. There is little emphasis placed on professional development for teachers and the salary is very low. The administration likes to micromanage and the teacher vibe is that teachers feel extremely supported by the families but under-appreciated by the administration.

My daughter went from pre-k through 11th grade. In elementary, the teachers and senor staff truly love the kids and do a fantastic job. My daughter was working about two years ahead of her grade at the end of elementary school. It was a different story at the Jr. /Senior High. Teachers don't seem qualified to teach college prep classes. The low level stuff was fine but the poor quality of teachers forced us to move her to a better public school. She had a very good GPA out of Horizon but really struggled when doing work at the public school. Work she already should have known from Horizon. The curiculum at Horizon does not parallel by any stretch the public system. Very tough on those leaving. Very good Drama Department. Not well funded. They charge the kids a $100 to participate in a play!

Horizon Elementary is absolutely wonderful! Both of my daughters attend there and we love it. The entire staff is dedicated, loving and committed to Biblical principles and teaching. Every teacher my children have had so far has been perfectly and prayerfully matched with my child's needs. We are so blessed to have our children in Horizon, and the girls are learning and growing by leaps and bounds.

Horizon offers a great environment for children to grow spiritually and academically. Parents are viewed as the primary educator of their children. Parents are given the opportunity to become very involved in their children's educational experience on the elementary school level. All 3 of my children attended and graduated from Horizon.

The staff and teachers are very dedicated to teaching the Christian values in this school. Academically they are very straight forward. Very traditional teaching methods are used - worksheets, rote memorization, etc.

I loved it when I was there and I love it now that my niece and nephew go there. Great teachers. Great programs. Great values and morals. All around just great!
