My child has attended First Lutheran Elementary since kindergarten. The teachers are great educators and caring individuals. The principal, secretary, and other staff are supportive and just as wonderfull. I recommend this school to those families that want their children to have a great educationa in a very caring environment.

I am a parent of three graduates from First Lutheran Elementary and High School. My daughter now tells me how much she appreciates her education and at the time she was in school thought it was difficult. Now she says mom, 'mom, I am so greatful for what they taught me and prepared for the real life. The religion classes have helped so much in telling my friends about Christ. When I was young I didn't understand and now being a parent all those classes have been a terrific blessing. First Lutheran offers the same opportunity to all the parents to volunteer and help as time permits. When my children attended I helped where I could and they were always apprecative and greatful even if I could only help a short time. If I had to choose and do it all over I would still choose First Lutheran for my children.

What a wonderful school. It really is home away from home for my kids. It dose take some sacrifice to have my kids in this school, but when I see first hand the love and dedication this school has for all the students, I know that I have made the right choice! Not sure what these other parents are complaining about. The school is a very active place and there are lots of opprotunities to help out if they choose.

My daughter was a student here for 3 years and I finally changed schools. I was tired of seeing how the administration favored parents that were well off. It was obvious how these parents are choosen to head all activities, plan functions and practically run the school. These women know how they treat all the other parents, the ones that are left out of everything. All I can hope for is a little more respect to all perents. No matter what their anuall salary is! And maybe a new administration!

First Lutheran is an excellent school that nurtures the mind, body and soul. Both my children graduated from First Lutheran with an excellent education that truly prepared them for Junior High. My son is a freshman at Loyola Marymount majoring in political science and he's doing very well. He's told me many times he attributes his success to his formative years at First Lutheran. I too was, and still am, a single mom who works full-time and doesn't have extra time or money for the school, but I've NEVER experienced favortism due to donations and/or volunteering. My daughter is an honors student in high school, and she too has the fondest memories of First Lutheran. Although we're Catholic and very involved with our parish, we feel the religious education received at F.L. was truly Christian-based without bias and it promoted their spiritual growth and knowledge of the Bible.

This school plays favorites with students whos parents give more money to the school and to stay at home moms that can spend all day helping around the campus. I am a single mom with a full time job and I still find tome to volunteer with parties and function. But I don't think my child should be penalized because I don't donate extra money to the school. I already pay $430 a month. I believe that the administration is very unfair to students and parents!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
