I love the school. My children are very happy there. The teachers are dedicated and patient with the children. Many parents are involved at all different levels. The children are all around very nice and friendly. Miss Judy is a wonderful secretary. The principal and the student advisor are terrible. Every school has its challenges. Overall I would say it is a great school and a gem but there are so many good scholls to choose from.

A breath of fresh air! Our children transfered in in the midle of the year from a private school and I was truly impressed with the teachers and the principal's leadership. Most important, my children are excited about going to school every day to learn new things and come home happy. The school is brand new and state of the art. Their are a few growing pains, as with any new facility, but they have been addressed and dealt with in turn. The parent participation has been very good and given with a sense of pride and community rather than a duty imposed.

This is our second year at DFES. We continue to be pleased by the very active parent base and dedicated principal, teachers and staff. Most importantly, the children are thriving; the new families I've met are very pleased with their experience at DFES. Though only in our second year, we have many programs in place (afterschool enrichment--music/science/theater/language, etc; garden; art; library; etc.). We have great events (Family Movie Night, Family Dinner Night, Pancake Breakfast, Halloween Carnival, Staff Appreciation Day, etc.) so our community can connect and get to know each other better. We raised about $50K in our first year and hope to do better this year! With about 80-90 new children this year, we have some traffic challenges at the morning drop off; our Safety Committee is working hard to address the issue. Come see our beautiful state-of-the art campus and become part of our growing community.

Wonderful school! We transferred our children over last year and the teachers, principal, and staff immediately impressed us with their level of commitment and professionalism. Green school, caring community, science, art, music, on site aftercare, and afterschool enrichment classes are developing beautifully and are only a few highlights.

The program is too new to evaluate the quality of the academic program, although it seems great so far. Music, art, and sports programs are being developed. Exracurricular activities are excellent: theatre and chess and additional programs in the pipeline. Parent involvement is outstanding. The committees (PTA, after school programs, garden, safety, recruitment and welcoming, just to name a few) are packed with involved parents. Parents who work full-time have opportunities outside school hours to participate and contribute to decision-making processes and committees.

This is a brand new state of the art facility and wonderful teachers. After school options: day care on site, chess, drama, science. Starting January: Choir, dance, homework club, and many others. I have 2 children at DiFi and I am extremely satisfied School tours every Wed. 10-11

We just moved back to the Bay Area from overseas and were really happy that we were able to find a place for our 2nd grader at Dianne Feinstein. We had visited many schools in San Francisco, both private and public and were impressed with this world-class facility. Many schools are in need of repairs and you wonder about earthquake safety - but not here. The school community is proving to be very active and caring. It really is amazing to see so much effort by parents and staff to get this school firmly planted in the right direction. Being a new school, there is an incredible opportunity to build a truly wonderful place. We don't have our first years test scores yet, but given the effort being put forth by staff and parents, I have no concerns. If you are looking for a great school with a strong community, look no further.

About the program
  • GLO is a child-centered, afterschool enrichment and academic program based on the premise that all children can and will succeed when offered learning opportunities that are inclusive of a wide range of learning styles that are adjusted to their needs and targeted to their unique strengths and assets. GLO offers every student a safe, structured, welcoming environment with programs structured around three key areas: daily academic support, diverse enrichment, and engaging recreational activities.GLO at Dianne Feinstein coordinates the after school enrichment classes that are provided through community partnerships with Inspire Music, Academic Chess, Mad Science, Playtime Gymnastics, Evolution Soccer, Allez Tennis, Lango Language Programs and Painting and Drawing with Crystal Herman. GLO at Dianne Feinstein also coordinates the after school Mandarin Language Program which takes place from Monday through Thursday for an hour.
