My son made a mid-year transition from a public K to Marin Prep. We were welcomed into the school community with open arms, and my son is thriving - he learned more (and shared more with me) in his first month at Marin Prep than during his entire previous semester in public school. We couldn't be happier with the school, and we're looking forward to helping build out the Marin Prep community in the coming years!

Great news! Marin Prep in San Francisco has hired Jeff Escabar, admissions director at Marin Country Day School, as its new head of school. The parents are absolutely thrilled. From Marin Prep's letter to parents: "I'm so excited to join the Marin Preparatory School" says Jeff Escabar, incoming Head of School. "I've been a friend of the school for many years and this chance to build an innovative school in the heart of San Francisco is a once in a life-time opportunity. I believe the school's language infusion program is a unique experience for students and families. I can't wait to be part of this progressive and creative community." Escabar, currently Admissions Director at Marin Country Day School, is highly respected through his service with the Bay Area Directors of Admission (BADA) and as a Board member of the Association of Independent School Admission Professionals (AISAP). Starting August in his new role, Escabar will be responsible for leading all aspects of the school, including curriculum, admissions, and administration. Just thought others would like to hear the great news. As anyone touring schools knows, Jeff is a great guy and a fantastic educator.

This is our second year at Marin Prep and all I can say is WE LOVE IT. The teachers are beyond wonderful and responsive, the social, emotional, and academic growth of the students is unbelievable. It is a new school which makes for some uncertainties, which can feel a little emotionally bumpy for the parents, but the kids are oblivious. My daughter is so articulate and in love with science and math and art and everything to do with the school. Our second child is starting next fall and we can't wait.

Our son started at Marin Prep in Fall 2012. We knew when we toured the school that it was a great fit for us - but we never dreamed that it would exceed our expectations by so much. Our son is happy and engaged. His confidence is growing by leaps and bounds. The school's academics are fantastic, but the delivery of the curriculum and support for a child's emotional and social growth is off the charts great. Our son is fluent in Spanish and his language continues to grow in this school. Marin Prep provides a small, loving community of teachers, administrators and parents. We couldn't be happier with our choice and chose it over a "top" public school as well as the other more established private schools.

The head of school, Senor Paul, is an interim head. He has provided strong leadership and has the school defining goals and plans that will provide a strong foundation for growth. The search for a permanent director is being conducted in a professional manner, and we are sure that a strong director will result from the process. Our son has grown tremendously in just a few short weeks in terms of socialization and his reading and other skills. Bottom line we are very pleased.

We went from a stellar preschool to a public Kindergarten and our son simply did not make the transition well. For 1st grade, we did what we should have done in the first place and entered him into our first choice independent school, Marin Prep. This school has excellent, highly-engaged teachers, parents and leadership and challenging academics, but still feels like a small, approachable family. It has all the down-to-earth culture of a public with all of the high qualities of a private.

My son started at Marin Prep 3 years ago in the transitional kindergarten program. We immediately fell in love with the teachers, quality of the education and the parent community! Our son (and more recently our daughter) has flourished at Marin Prep and we couldn't be happier. The high student/teacher ratio, engaging teaching methods and extra attention provided to each child is unmatched. My kids also go to the after-care program and I m always amazed when I arrive to pick them up that after being at school all day long they still don t want to leave! It s such a good feeling! When I talk to friends about how it's going at their school (mostly public), I often hear that their school is simply 'fine'. I am always so proud to say that our school is so far beyond fine in fact the word fine would never enter into my description of the school! It is truly a wonderful place.

We recently enrolled our son in Marin Prep's junior kindergarten program, and I couldn't be happier about our decision. I felt certain that my son was ready to move on from pre-school, and I was right! He is growing in leaps and bounds -- academically, socially, and emotionally -- just in the couple of months he has spent there so far. He bounces into the car at the end of every day, starts teaching me Spanish, multiplication, astronomy and ... did I mention he's only four? Wonderful, warm teachers, a new director, a focus on Spanish enrichment, a great art program, extra-curricular sports and clubs, and an active parent community are among the many benefits of enrolling at Marin Prep. We are taking advantage of all of it!
