The school overall is very good. It is cleana dn as well as teachers, the parents take pride in it. My son's teahcer is excellent but I had a problem with a teahcer in a past but the issue was resolved.
This is an awesome school. The prinicpal and staff are very helpful and great communication. Parent participation overall is good, yet there still needs to be more parent participation as this is our childrens school.
This is a very good school. My son did well here although I have to say that he was marginalized due to his minority cultural background because the school is mostly Asian. He had a difficult time socially. Academically the school is very good and the teachers seem competent.
This school os really great. I like the principal and all the school activities.
My son just started in kindergarten at Sherman and I couldn't be happier with the school. The principal and teachers are outstanding- far more impressive than the teachers I met at the private schools we considered. The facility is wonderful, with large, sunny rooms and lots of space. My son, who is caucasian, is surrounded by a diverse mix of children at the school with various backgrounds and beliefs- some similar to ours and others that aren't- reflecting the culture and diversity of San Francisco. Lastly, the parent community is active, involved and committed to making the school the best it can be. I highly recommend this school!
I first learned about Sherman when I moved to San Francisco in February of 2004 and had to quickly enroll my daughters in school during the middle of the school year. Although I had spent many hours on the internet researching various SFUSD schools, my research had not included Sherman. Thank goodness my counselor at the Educational Placement Center suggested I look at Sherman! This school has some of the highest test scores in the city--thanks to both its excellent teachers and the dedication of the parents of its students. The principal, Mrs. Matsuno, is the epitome of professionalism and leads her staff by example. The PTA is active and is becoming even stronger. Both of my girls attend the school and I couldn't be happier. This school is what all public schools should be like.
