It's hard to believe, but this was once a good school. It was on the basis of its reputation that I made the mistake of sending my kids there. I wish I could tell them how sorry I am.

This used to be a wonderful school and it is sad to see what has happened to it, to see so many children coming home in tears, sad that some of the best teachers are being fired or quitting in protest. Hopefully, in a year or two, when a new administration is in place, this will once again be a school that parents will choose for their children, knowing that their children will be treated with respect and dignity and honored for their individuality. It is because of this hope and this dream, that we have not given up on Wallenberg, and have not joined other parents in removing their children from this school. Go bulldogs!

Wonderful school, great teachers, great support staff, but terrible current Principal. Wallenberg used to be a great school for learning and activities. In [the new Principal's] time there morale has never been lower. There are many good parents and teachers trying to work together to keep the school going until someone in the District wakes up and takes action. We wanted to send our youngest daughter there but would not consider it until there is a change in administration. Her sisters graduated Wallenberg in 2002 and went on to complete college feeling prepared and able, but the direction of the school has changed for the worse with the current Principal. It is now an environment where people are devalued and tradition is looked upon as something negative.

Academic programs are archaic, no technology in this day and age! Extracurricular activities are limited. Students are taught not to think but just to obey orders. Parent involvement is welcomed in words, never in spirit nor actions. Much tension exists between administration and all other participants in the school community. Student morale is low, teacher morale is low, and parent morale is low. It is now one of the fastest failing schools in this world class city.

This was an excellent school. For such a small size it excells very well academically. It offers a wide rang of class options including its AP program and music such as band and choir. overall an excellent school.

This school is ok. Its ugly and bad maitained. The classes are bad. No off campus lunch. Small school with large students. I do not recommend this school in education. The reason I said it was ok is because its safe and in a good place. Overall its ok. Bad education.

About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
