Teacher quality
Principal leadership
Parent involvement
The school is a hidden treasure in San Francisco. There is an evident role of diversity in the school. We just recently appointed a new principal and it was a seamless transition. The school's is always so well kept. We are happy with the faculty. Faculty is a mix of young and old, but both highly skilled. Many of the personnel have been here for a long time. The school offers a limited number of extracurricular activities, yet with an emphasis on academics. Parent involvement is high - Great parent, great neighborhood! Safety and discipline are not a concern.
Education is great. Teachers catered to students' needs. Many extracurricular activities are offered. However, the administration and teachers have strict guidelines. I.e. If you have not received the form i.e. basketball sign-ups and submit late, your child cannot play and there are no exceptions. They won't take the blame for it. Whatever happened to it is about the child? The administration treat the parents like kids; If they don't have time to talk, they'll respond in a rude manner. The Catholic principals need to be focused more; i.e. They will go off 'He Said, She Said,' instead of understanding the situation and bring the group together. The administration needs to work on this. Just look at the turnover rate on couple of grades...
Warm, friendly preschool staff have created a positive environment for my child. They nurture independence in my child. Good teacher to student ratio; even have a male assistant teacher! Good food for the kids and flexible schedules for working parents. Because they are still new, need better communication with the rest of the school. Would recommend it to others.
Pros Exceptional teachers, Great principal. Outstanding academics. Cons: Not very Diverse , difficult to fit in the community.
I graduated from this school, and it had very good academics and a very good environment. However the teachers and principal could be biased or prejudice towards some students. But besides that its all good.
I liked this school a lot when i attended. I learned very well in the environment, and the teachers were very helpful and patient with me as well. This is definitely the best school in all of San Francisco.
Very good school. More 'academic' than 'nurturing' or creative, however. Little to do at recess/breaks (ie. no playground equipment((when he attended)). I felt that the teacher was tuned in to my child and his personality and needs. A lot of 'extra expenses' regarding the parish and trying to get him into the school at the time felt like a brown nosing sort of event. If I were still living in San Francisco, I'd still choose this school however. Solid Catholic/private school education.
There is no match for the educaition the children recieve. Simply look at where the garduating class goes to high school.
