My son has developed a lot in the 12 months he's attended this school. Of course, this could be due to the fact that he's ready to learn. However, I do feel that the teachers have paid tremendous amount of attention to him and really observed his development. They would work with him in the areas where he needed help and certainly did not hesitate to move him up to more difficult tasks when he was ready. My only wish is that they develop the K-6 program more by finding the funding to move to a bigger location and recruit more students so that they can form sports and other extracurricular activities. If so, I would consider keeping my son there for all 7 years. As is, it's still a fantastic preschool and pre-K or kindergarten school.
Beware of this school. It used to be great before the previous school director passed away. It's no longer the true Montessori style, however, the Portola location still has one of the best preschool teachers in San Francisco.
My two children attended the preschool and have received an excellent education as well as social skills. Their preschool teacher is the greatest! We really came to appreciate the fine job the teachers did only after my children left to attend Kindergarten.
