Much different environment now with a principal who is much more involved and holds leadership to motivate the staffs & faculties. She has been on the job over one year and heading towards two. With 95% of the faculty believing in the use of tech. to teach equipments in classrooms and computer lab. have been updated. Plus on top of that, this past Summer faculty members, staff, principal, and parents atended the '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' workshop based on the world-renown author Dr. Stephen Covey on their volunteering time. After such unity displayed to the founder of Panda Restuarant Group, they have adopted Marshall Elementary as a 'Panda' school which means all students at Marshall now will be given necessary material to live the '7 Habits' plus all faculty will be trained professionally to teach within the '7 Habits' principles. Please do not judge a book by its cover.
John Marshall has come along way. The recent upgrades have made this aged old school look more presentable. The teachers have been great thus far. I do agree however that the inner workings of the school aren t very organized and outdated. Garvey School Dist. has a website that is pointless because it is never updated. Important notices are never passed out in time. Those parents that work are not given enough time to make arrangements to attend.
The principal and teachers show how much commitment and time they put into our children.I really LOVE this school.Parents need to be more involved!
i think the school has an amazing academic program, they do have extracurricular activities, and instead of complaining about it, do something! it's something called parent involvement! the teachers there are amazing!
This school does not have any extracurricular activities such as music and sports. However, I have noticed a couple of teachers volunteer their own time to train students how to put on performance for various cultural events. The school's infra-structure is outdated. Parent involvement at the school is quite low but it is a whole different story at the school district level.
A small school with limited budget. Not very clean facility. Classrooms are over-crowded with students from fourth grade put in a fifth grade class or 3rd graders in fourth grade class.
