Excellent Spanish Dual Language Immersion School. My children have been with the school since it's inception. The schools API scores continue to rise. The MESA Club won a major bridge competition. The school is still small enough for parents and students to develop sincere relationships. Parents devote hundreds of hours volunteering in the classroom, developing the yearbook, organizing fundraisers, writing grants, and coaching in the athletic program. Our school is doing so well that 25% of the students are inter-district transfers. Both my children scored advanced in language arts on the state standards exam. Adelante is a diamond in the rough.

Great Spanish Dual Immersion program that is a small public school - NOT A CHARTER! My child has been in it since it started 7 years ago, and he speaks and understands Spanish well, and we mainly speak English. Scores are picking up now, just like Prof Marty said, we won't see results until late junior or High School. High parent participation and teachers who care. We aren't perfect, but I wouldn't change it, if I could.

I am a parent of 2 students at Adelante. My daughter is in 4th grade and my son is in 2nd grade. They really enjoy attending school each day. This year, the school grew a lot bringing in students from another school. This isn't a small school no more. We are very disappointed with administration. They don't quite follow thru, never there and seem very disorganized. We are notified about last minute events and they never answer the phone. The principal used to be more professional, easy going & understanding. Teachers from Adelante are very supportive and enthusiastic. We wonder how they do it because they have a tough load. Many times they don't go home until after school events, well after 7 or 8 pm. There is a lot of parent involvement in class and school events. My children enjoy going to class and

Hands down to Adelante. I'm a proud parent for 6 years both of my children as well as 95% of my daycare attend this great school. I currently live on the south side of San Jose where I travel 15-20 min each day to get all my kids to Adelante. It's all well worth it. My kids are fluentin Spanish at the grade of 2. The school promised by 8th so they are on top of things at Adelante.

Adelante is a dual language school where parents are highly involved and the staff is very responsive. We feel like the school is our second family. My children are reading, writing and speaking in two languages. The rating I give this school is a four.

I just wanted to congratulate my daughter Marisa, and the school staff for encouraging her and supporting her with her academic success; of course we take full responsibility as well :) Marisa as of late, and just to piggy back off one of the comments below...Keep in mind that they were only taught one hour of english (Arturo Meza) Well Marisa won a district wide writing contest. She and a fellow class mate were also chosen to display their science project at the district event. God willing, she will hopefully participate in the district spelling be contest as well. So, in closing...any of you parents that have doubts about enrolling your child/children in our school, don't! Adelante is a great school and our children are receiving the best attention and education.....Si Se Puede!!! Adelante Parent: Raul Perez

Our twin girls are in kindergarten at Adelante and we love the school. We like the small size and especially, the homey, family type environment where it's readily apparent that all the teachers and staff actually care about the kids. I have to admit I'm a bit anxious about my kids falling behind on the 3Rs (reading , writing, arithmetic) because they don t yet comprehend Spanish.; however, parents I ve spoken to who ve had their kids in these programs in the past say not to worry they learn and then exceed. So, we re looking forward to the adventure. I ll update next year after 1st grade begins Sheila

I love this school! I have two children who have been attending this school for the last 3years, they have learned so much! The parent involment absolutly amazes me, and the friendships my children have made are truly wonderful. With it being a small school they are getting the one on one attention that most kids at these grade levels really need. Thanks A proud Adelante Parent :)

The success of our children Adelante is due to the commitment of staff, administration and support of the families. Pero mas que nada, the hard work and discipline our Adelante children possess. My daughter has been with Adelante since inception as well, she is excelling in both english and spanish. I sometimes call her from work to ask her where the accent should go on a certain word. We love our school and what it does for our children. Adelante instills pride in our children and hope that they can succeed in anything they do. Raul and Maribel Perez

Comparing API scores to other schools in their district, they did half as good. Keep in mind that they were only taught one hour of english, which is an accomplishment in itself. Teachers can change the curriculum to best suit the students progress and that benefits the class. This is my son's 4th year and he has been going since inception, since 2004-05. Family primary language is English. This school was created by parents with PACTs help to improve the education the kids were getting in ARUSD.
