i wouldnt recommend this school. the bullying has been increasing and more scandals are popping out every day, for example one of the principles having intimate relations with a former student, teachers confronting each other, cheerleaders having skirts showing too much leg, kids having list of girls to have relations with. they school does not care about its students it only cares about receiving money.

I am stunned. It has been an enlightening experience at Piedmont Hills. The administration is so focused on fund raising that they've forgotten about educating our children. There are of course a few good teachers and support staff here but the principal and administration as well as some of the teachers are a real piece of work. Since when do teachers not teach? There's no sense of responsibility to the student's education here, it's definitely left up to the student...sink or swim. But I guess that's what public high school has come to. Maybe Piedmont Hills is just the best of the worst. And then again there are the test scores, but let's look at that a little closer. Do you really think test scores are reflective of the education available at high performing schools? Or is it simply demographics? I'm betting on demographics everytime. There's little to no parent involvement either. If public schools were run like any other business they would in fact fail due to non performance and customer satisfaction issues as well as mismanaging funds. If I had to make the decision over again I would have considered enrolling my kids elsewhere. Something to think about.

It's a shame, I always heard this was a great school but the administartion is poor and the focus is on money. Money for the teachers and administration, no priority on student education and safety. Some teachers are good but like in a barrel of apples it only takes one to spoil the whole barrel. Perhaps it is the result of the new principal's leadership. Extremely disappointed with the integrity of the administration.

This school isn't as good as students or parents might say if you aren't a straight A student. Students always talk about how they got a 99/100 on a test and say they did bad which is absurd. If your not an A student that also gets invovled with activities, good like making friends at this school.

PHHS is the ideal highschool. You'll always find someone that has some of the same interests as you. Our API score increased (we're very smart.)

I love piedmont!!! all my friends are there, there are lots of extracurricular activities, the teachers are good, and most of the students have discipline so i can learn well in class.

For the most part it has always been a very good school. The one thing that has changed through the years is it was a lot more diverse previously. My son attends this school but as a half Latin half African American male this school does not offer the chance to interact with a variety of cultures. Therefore I am moving my child from this school because while academics are very important, you learn about the Real world by learning not only academics but interacting with a variety of cultures.

Honestly, For my self this school is not all bad. I've had family members go that went to this school and they graduated. also my self i went to PHHS. my first year there the kept me comfortable and i just go used to the campus plenty of people were probably rude and abnoxious people of course fights accured but the advistors and teachers stoped it and the rules were pretty great rules are pretty strict. My childern are attending this school now and its still wonderful like it was back then when i was in Piedmont. I would highly recommend that you should put your students in this high school it sure got me where i want to be.

Great school but not diverse at all. Likely 80% Vietnamese. Nothing against Asians but when I attended Piedmont it was a variety of ethnicities and I think children learn about diversity by being school with minorities, not one minority but many. I would feel the same way if the school was 80% of any ethnicity- I just think its sad.

Piedmont strikes again with its revised dress policy. seems way too extreme and leading toward uniforms. This is a poorly thought out policy. We need a change already and this is the fourth principal in four years, something wrong.

Communication between the school and parents is not so great. Advisors/Counselors don't seem to want to talk to parents and give the message that they are too busy. (I give the 504 counselor high marks! She's very responsive and helpful!) Teachers can now use School Loop which is a wonderful program where they can post homework assignments and grades. Most teachers are using it now and it is getting better each year. In 3 years we have had 3 principals. I guess that's a ESUHSD issue. Other schools in this district have the same problem. All in all, I feel my children are safe and getting a decent education.

My child went to yhis school and it is outstanding. This school is better than all the schools in natomas unionfied school district. It is way better than inderkum highschool. This is a school I wish I could have attended as a child so I could have got a degree. Pleas send your children here for a better education. - Mrs. Swalts

About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
