We are noticing alot of turnover of teachers at the school. Is this normal? I think if the teachers are not staying then questions have to be raised about why they are leaving. I think the problems with the new teachers can be worked out but not without the support of the principal, and there is no support there.
I have been involved in several San Jose Schools in the past few years. I have a 6th grader & a special education child & Hayes has been a God send for her! The school is great & I think the long time parents who have complained about Mrs. Roach are not giving her a fair chance as a new principal, she does a great job! There is a new 6th grade teacher this year who needs some direction, but I have confidence that her issues will be addressed or she will be replaced. Hayes is a wonderful environment with a lot of love & support for our children!
I have been at Hayes for a long time and have been thrilled with the education my children have received up until the last 2 years. The current principal is inefficient and the teachers are not receiving enough support to be effective educators. Most of the teachers are wonderful and do their best to give every child what they need but the quality of leadership at the school has diminished greatly in the last year or so. We are a long time Hayes family and we are leaving the school and possibly the district because or the poor quality of education our children are receiving. I was once proud to say we went to Hayes Now I am ashamed.
Grades k-2 are great. The school starts going down at about third grade? We are changing schools do to the principal and upper grade teachers.
My daughter just transferred from Miner Elementary to Hayes(k), i noticed the results in her level of education instantly !. The professionalism and commintment of the teachers and attention to detail given to each students education and personal growth is second to none. their school motto should be 'commitment to excellence'
My kids love going to Hayes. I am continually impressed with the dedication and caring displayed by the teachers. My kids hate missing a day of school. It is because of their teachers and the education they are receiving.
I was informed about Hayes from a friend and he was right. This is a great schoool. My daughter loves it and has grown so much in her first year as a Kindergardner. I like how they encourage for parents to participate in the class activities. Thank you Hayes!
