I tried to rate this school before , but the site review people awont post bad reviews- this school needs lots of improvement still.I notice that people put all these extra curricular activities that DO NOT exist- there is NO MUSIC , BAND or ART. It is a study study study test test test school. There is nothing really going for this school and it is really sad. It is also know for its bullying and the principal I think is trying to hide it. I have talked to a lot of parents at this school and they agree- some of us have no choice but to send our kids here.

My son attends per-school at Grant. I think Ms Solano is one of the best teacher there she is very patient and does lots of activities with the kids and Ms Gonzales is also a great teacher aid.

My daughter of age 6 attends Grant School and I am very pleased with her learnings the school has really tried to improve there test scores and really trys to reward the kids who make the effort! I feel the staff there makes me feel at home, I attended Grant Elementary as a kid also and I still see alot of the staff that was there when I was and I love to know that they are not total strangers!

I have never felt welcome at this school. I have never been asked to participate or help in any way. There is a general, 'we don't want you here' vibe at the school. Recently there was a lockdown at the school because there were two men with guns who had just killed two people in the neighbourhood. The school was quick to lockdown and very save. However, the police never caught these two men and the school allowed the children to walk home without warning the parents that there was ever a problem.

I have five children and my 12 year old graduated from Grant last year. I also currently have an 8 year old daughter, a 7 year old son currently at Grant, and my twin boys will be entering Kindergarten this school year. Overall, I have been pleased with Grant. Mrs. Janis Hubbs, the school principal is great. She is very approachable and is open to new ideas. She has brought many new programs to the school since she took over aprox 2-3 years ago. I especially like the after school programs that were implemented. I also really like the tight knit community & parent involvement. The monthy Family Nights are usually 'standing room only'. My family enjoys going to Family Night because we learn a lot & my children have fun (great door prizes too & food). The teachers have been very loving to my children and that means a lot to me. Whenever there has been 'incidents', Ms. Hubbs was always there to listen and help rectify the problem. There have also been great class for us parents to keep us up to speed with our kids. Thanks Grant for many great years.
