Excellent parent involvement. Most of the teachers are great and have the students best interest in mind. Although there are a couple that will only work well with the brightest students. The new principal has many new ideas, but doesn't always seem open to input.

Hopefully the new principal at this school will create a more egalitarian atmosphere. Some very good teachers, although quality varies--we ended up with a couple of bad apples. The parents are involved and that is part of the strength of this school. That said, among many parents, it is all about social status and teachers tend to defer to more popular parents. Many parents at the school admit (though not overtly) that there is a cliquish crowd and if you don't fit it, those parents will look right through you. Also, if your child struggles with any developmental/educational needs or if they are highly gifted, their needs will not be met. Unfortunately this school's mission feels like it's all about the Academic Performance Index.

My son completed first grade recently. He loved being in the school. Excellent focus on inculcating values that make a person happy and successful in life. Good academics as well. Staff and teachers are very warm and friendly and respect and value suggestions for improvements.

The teachers at Guadalupe are very hard working. We have been impressed with the achievement of our 1st grader. There are many fun extra-curricular activities. The parents are very involved with the school programs.

Children at all levels are challenged. As a parent of a GATE Student (Gifted and Talented), I am exceptionally pleased at the education my child has received. Students in 5th grade are doing course work that I did not tackle until much later when I was a student. The staff is extremely caring and interested in the whole child, not just how did they do in their standardized test scores. I will be sad when we move on.
