My children have been attending Achiever elementary for the past two school years and they absolutely love it. The friendships they have establish are wonderful. The teachers are extremely loving, hard working, and I feel they really care about kids as their owns. The principal is great and is easily accessible when you have a need. My son was having academic learning problems and she took the lead in making sure he had the right learning support to ramp him up. This is a well rounded school, it was very cool that the open up the opportunity for the 4th and 5th graders to play on the middle school soccer team this past year. For me, besides all the points I have made I really like that my children go here is because they really LOVE GOD and teach christian teachings from the bible!! Now that's the best education anyone could receive. Do yourself a favor and meet them if you are considering a private school.

We've been at Achiever for six years and are very happy with it. The school came highly recommended to us by friends when we were looking for a preschool. It's important to us that what we teach at home is reinforced at school and not contradicted. The biblical values being taught give the kids guidelines on how to treat each other and they're very tolerant of one another's differences. Our class sizes have been around 16-18 kids over the years. There is a lot of parent involvement and everyone seems to know one another. This gives it a community type feel where you know they are looking out for one another. I have to give a shout out to their computer program. These kids are learning early in elementary keyboard & computer navigation as well as programs like Word & Powerpoint.

I love this preschool!! Both of my children attended preschool at ACS for 3 years, now my son is in a public school that is rated a 10 on great schools.org and he is still ahead academically. The teachers are so wonderful, caring and comapssionate. My chidlren had Miss Linda, Miss Carmen, Miss Jusy, Miss Denise and Miss Teresa and they were all fabulous. If I could afford to keep my children here for elementary school I would without a doubt.

All three of my children have attended Achiever Christian School and we are in our last year at the school. For a total of 8 years, my two boys, one daughter and my husband and I have experienced good and bad times. 90% of what we experienced was excellent. As in life, there were hard times here too. I have seen the school continue to improve and upgrade in every way. I believe with more parent communication to the teachers and if necessary administration, all problems would be fixed and made right. ACS cares about the families. What is right for one student and family may not be right for another. They strive for high standards and make accommodations if necessary. Mostly, the Christian values shine and the Lord will be glorified in this school and through the students, teachers, staff and families.!!! Go take a look!! Then, get involved.

I enrolled my daughter in the Jr. K program because she missed the cutoff date for public K. This school has exceeded my expectations. The teachers are caring, kind and patient. In the 4 months my daughter has been here, she has learned so much and made so many friends. The parent involvement is wonderful.

I am actually very excited about the change in Administration! I am not happy about the timing or abrupt way that it came about, but could not be more pleased with the advancement of Mrs. Julie Brown. My children have been here for 6 years so far and Mrs. Brown has been beyond excellent. Her joy and nature truly show her love for the kids here at Achiever and that is really what we want is for our kids to be loved. Both my husband and I are THRILLED!!!!

I really like Achievers. My only issue is that they are very accedemically inclined. Its not bad, but where a normal school cut age is Dec. 2 for the following grade, theirs is mid-sept. (I think) which makes them older and more mature classrooms. There is a very small opening in education and maturity wise. But the teachers are wonderful and Julie, the principle is a wonderful person who answers any and all questions (even the not so bright ones)! :)

When you look at private pre-schools and elementary schools in the area, this one stands out among the best. The classrooms are cheerful, not drab. There is a good balance between a focus on acadamic standards and a love/enjoyment of learning. When budget cuts are made and other schools are cutting programs, ACS is still offering enhancement classes (spanish, computer, art, music etc.) The teachers are attentive, creative and very loving. The principal is responsive to concerns and very willing to make changes when improvements can/should be made. For the price, it would be hard to find a more desireable place to send your preschooler or elementary student.

I have had 19 years experience with Achiever Christian School and am very thankful for a school who is concerned for the whole child. My college aged children received the best academic foundation that have encouraged them to continue to be life-long learners!

The teachers are very caring and have great enthusiam for learning. The 'family' atmosphere, the school is small enough that you feel you know alot of the families that go there. The parent participation shows that the parents really care about their childrens and their education. The option of my 3rd grader being able to challenge level classes. The security my children feel at their school.

We are extremely happy at ACS. My children are thriving and growing with the guidance of the outstanding teachers and faculty. As a parent you have the secure feeling that your children are as important to the teachers and staff as you would expect from this wonderful school.

I love this Preschool. My son's preschool teacher Miss Judy is the excellent one. You can't image what kind of shy and mommy boy he was before he goes to school. I can't even put my son in ymca daycare for 5 minute. I try many wayS to train him independence. I fail..... he just need me to stay with him every minute. I am a full time mom and my son never went to any day care before. Now Less than one year. he is happy and Love school~~ Strongly recomment this school.

As this school year ends and my last child moves into high school I find myself being very sad to leave ACS. I cannot speak highly enough about some of the staff. From preschool all the way through middle school a few very special staffers have touched my child's life in such a godly way. Mr. Stan Vajdos and Mrs. Julie Brown have been hugely instrumental in the devlopment of my children in a fun caring and educational way. These two individuals completely poured themselves into our children as well as all of the children at ACS. I commend the pastor for hiring such stellar people. These two (along with others) have a special place in our hearts as they have helped shape the character of our children. I wish ACS, 'Mr. Stan' and 'Miss Julie' every success!

The after care program has been great I feel that the staff truly help our children to learn but also proved a safe environment that we sometimes wonder if that is possible. I would give the after care a five star and the school five stars as well.

Achiever Christian School is an excellent school in San Jose, CA. The principal is a Godly leader with a clear vision for the future. The teachers are friendly, loving, and care deeply about the students. The Enhancement classes offer opportunities to excel in a variety of areas.

This school is great. A few years back we had a principal who if you will, didn't do to great of a job. While he was principal, the size of the school decreased maybe 40%. However, this year, Denise Chester, has been such a blessing. She has greatly helped our school especially in adding children. She has been giving tours to parents to show them about the way the teachers do stuff. A few people are leaving, but I'm 98% sure that we will be getting new kids. About the teachers, they are really nice. Some may be mean a few times, but most of the time, when I think of it, they're actually really nice. I feel that God has really helped this school and hope that he continues to do so. God Bless!

We are new to the school this year. We spent many years at another local private Christian School. From the bottom of my heart - the staff, the teachers, the students and their families have been the kindest and most pleasant people I've ever meet. I smile everyday as I drop my child off, feeling so comforted about where I am leaving her for the day.

I have been a parent at ACS for 13 years. My oldest started in Pre-School and is now in High School. My younger two are currently at ACS in the Jr. High and Elementary. My husband and I have seen many, many changes at this school. Some not so good and some absolutely fantastic. The most recent changes have been awesome. The administration has undergone some major changes. The hiring of a new Principal has been a major blessing and a major change that this gem of a school needed. The new principal is extremely approachable as well as the Director of Elementary. Both open to any suggestions or willing to provide a solution, if need be. Jr. High and elem are challenging. These kids are loved and cared for here. The Bible lessons and Chapel messages are fantastic. Pull-outs are great! We love ACS!

We highly recommend ACS!

My daughter has attended this school since pre-school and is now in 8th grade. We have always had good communication with teachers and staff...they've always been extremely helpful and supportive. The students are given SAT's yearly so you are aware of the progress they are making which is helpful since private schools aren't in the Great Schools ratings. Parent participation is encouraged, especially in lower grades, but continues on into middle school. I agree with an earlier posting that the kids are all friends, they care and support each other. This, I feel, comes from the Biblical lessons the children learn, both in the classroom and the general attitude of the school. The reason I haven't given ACS 5 stars is due to the weak after school sports programs in the middle school...that being said, they taking steps to correct this situation. Over all a great school!!

Very high quality Christian leadership among teachers and staff. During 2004, our first year here, I told my husband that if I weren't a Christian when I came, I would be interested in checking out the church based on the quality of people I met at ACS.

We have been involved with Achiever since 2002. There have been many good and positive changes that have taken place. Our kids have had amazing experiences in pre-school and elementry. The dedication and care the staff show for each child is much appreciated. I feel confident knowing that my kids are not just getting a great academic education but they are learning important moral and Biblical principles that are aligned with what we teach at home. Every school is going to have areas where gliches need to be worked out. I have seen that Achiever continually strives to improve those areas.

I enrolled my child in preschool and he received an excellent start. The teachers and the director were amazingly full of love and care for my child. The communication was very good as well. As my child moved up she did well and for the most part had very good teachers, but the administration was not the best. Since then my child is now in Middle School and there have been administrative changes. The Preschool Director oversees Elementary as well and there is a new Principal. These changes were needed and are great! I loved the Preschool Director when my child was in Preschool and am happy and so glad that they placed her in a bigger role. The new Principal seems to have a heart to move the school forward, which we needed. I believe this is an excellent loving, spiritual and academic environment.

I have been a parent at Achiever Christian School for seven years. Past administraton was not helpful, but now there have been some major changes in the school. We have a new administrator who is excellent and leading the school in positive ways. (By the way, I have never heard of a Pajaras Jonas as a staff, or parent. He who gave the negative report, below.) This school does not expect children to be 'perfect little angels.' They do expect parents to work with them if there are academic or behavioral issues that need to be dealt with, for any students. I have found the teachers to be encouraging to my child and my family. My son was struggling in a class. I worked with the teacher. She suggested making some accomodatons, for him. When my son was successful, the teacher made extra efforts to praise and encourage him.

We pulled our child out as well. Some of the teachers are not academically qualified. Administration is horrible....poor communication...now there is another principal.Extracuricullum activities are handled by teenagers who have zero experience with kindergarteners. When trips are done, the teachers huddle and chat....scary, instead of supervising the children. One of the postings said the kindergarten teachers expect children to be perfect little angels. Kids are kids. The environment is supposed to be a religious one, but no so. You be the judge....trust me I know.

My daughter has attended since the first grade and now she is entering 8th next year. Most of her teachers have been very good. It's the type of school where everyone knows each other. There's no stuck-up kids. Communication with the teachers is very good. The middle school is small and intimate which might not be everyone's cup of tea. Everyone is friends with each other in their particular grade. There are no 'bad' kids or they will be gone. Doesn't push academics too much. They are trying to bring of love of learning to students. Biblical principles taught. A few years ago they had problems with some of the teachers in the middle school but that has improved. Too small to get much participation in some sports. Has a sports field now.

I do not recommend this school at all! My son came in a positive, confident boy and left labeled 'rebellious, bad and a troublemaker'. Although the administration has good intentions, they are completely out of touch and if your kid is not a natural learner or 'fits into a box', they will suffer. As a teacher myself, I quickly recognized that my kid was being criticized daily for not being perfect.

This school has a wonderful curriculum and wonderful teachers. The choir teacher has greatly improved the concerts the children perform twice a year and has taught my children many different things about music. This school is wonderful at using biblical foundations in their method of discipline so the children learn what the Bible says why their inappropriate behavior is unacceptable. There are many different ways to be involved as a parent, room parent, driving on field trips, volunteering for one of the many fundraisers, there is always a need for parents to help out. The administration as very approachable which we find to be very important. We love this school!

My children attended Achiever Christian School for many years. As parents, we were very involved and supported the school in many ways. However, we have been unhappy in the last couple of years. ACS cut their instrument program to save the school money without notifying the parents. There is poor communication between the administration and parents. We've noticed that Achiever Christian School no longer 'partners with parents to reach their child's God-given potential'. There were many families who came to see their 1st-5th grade children sing at the Elementary concerts, however the focus was on 12 Middle School students. The extracurricular activities are very poor and are run only by teenagers, most of whom do not have prior experience with children. Parents are involved, but are responsible for their 'group' during field trips while the teachers chat. Because of these reasons and several more, we will not be returning to ACS!

The teachers that we have had so far are very caring. They take time to know each child individually. There is good recognition of good behavior. The principal takes time to get to know the children and the parents. There is community at this school. The school is strongly academic and is very strict.

We are pulling our twins out, mainly because we do not feel that they are getting the proper support during and after school, teachers expect parents to do the work for them at home with disregard to that many parents work long hours, and they expect the student to pick up at fast paste. The Management is out of touch, what a waste of money and energy. I only like the safety and religious and social aspect of it.

My child has been at ACS for 7 years. This year (2005) has been horrible. A recent principal change, numerous teachers with no teaching credentials and an out-of-touch superintendent have forced us to change schools. ACS is a good school if your child is a natural student. The administration doesn't work well with students who need extra help or care. Most of the teachers are very good, however there are quite a few who do not have their creditials and it really shows. Nothing ever seems to improve, excuses are always given instead of results.
