We love SSFP! It's amazing that the church is very involved with the school. Fr. Paul is there at every school event and would always greet every parent with his sweet smile. He worked really hard to build the TK, Kinder and Science Lab. The academics is awesome too. They learn one grade level ahead in Math and the teachers do challenge their kids in all subjects. The parents and staff are very involved and do work together to make every school event a success.
I don't know why parents think that the curriculum is advanced. All Catholic schools in California including St. Felicitas follows the same California standards that all public schools do. It's stated right on the school's website. Why would I pay for that when it's free at public school. The only benefit that I see are the smaller class sizes.
The academics at this school is top notch! Math program is excellent! Every kid learns one grade level above in math/reading. Teachers teach the children good morals and how to be good Catholics. Very challenging curriculum! If you believe in having a strong academic foundation for your child, SSFP is the place to be. Your child will learn a lot! We absolutely love it here and so happy we discovered this school!
I visited this school and I left with a good impression, however my only concern was that the playground looked so plain to me, and there are still younger children that might need a more appealing playgound. I know that we all have a different opinion as far as our children's quality of education; my daughter will be attending kindergarten next year and I want her first learning experience to be a positive one, in all areas not just academically.
My two daughters graduated from Saints Felicitas and Perpetua School and I must say it is definitely the academic preparation they received from the teachers. My children were well prepared for high school. I am proud to say they were able to take AP and honors classes. I truly feel it is due to the challenging curriculum of Saints Felicitas and Perpetua school. The teachers are all dedicated to Catholic education. Another important aspect of the school is the math lab and the Accelerated Reader Program. Students are able to visit the math lab at 7:15 am, review for tests or ask questions about a homework problem. Besides the reading curriculum, the AR Program is an additional reading comprehension assessment for students. Drop in anytime and you will be impressed with the school and the teachers.
I love this school!! Plain and simple. My son has a good understanding and base of his faith, which I think is very important. Secondly, his school is very challenging. They are very ahead in terms of what is expected and what is being taught. I can say I would not want him anywhere else. I know for a fact he will get ahead in life by completing his schooling there. They also include the parents in everything including preparing their lunches (which are done fresh everyday!). I love it!
This school provides a wonderful Catholic education and prepares the students to become life long Catholics. The academic excellence that is stressed is attainable and the children respond to the challenges presented in their classes. I encourage anyone looking for a great school in the San Gabriel Valley area to come and take a look at this school.
This school prepared all four of my children for the rigorous honors level classes they took in high school. The principal is wonderful and the teachers are very caring and interactive with their students. I would highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a wonderful education for their child both spiritually and academically. This school consistently achieves excellence across the board as seen in test scores, top placement yearly in the academic decathlon and in service to the community.
Saints Felicitas & Perpetua has been a wonderful learning experience for my children. I have found the faculty and staff to be willing to go the extra mile to meet the needs of my children. There is a very positive spirit in the school which makes it a joy for my children to attend. They are truly benefiting from an outstanding educational experience.
Great School. Great Principal, great staff, great atmosphere and great environment. What's most important is our child LOVES this school. His teacher treats him so very well and has absolutely made a big difference in him this first year. Academically this is a top school, our child was a bit behind in his Math but instead of falling behind this school has a dedicated Math Specialist who helps every child who needs it...so after a few months our child has caught up and now he's doing homework in regards to prime numbers and also division and our child's only in 2nd grade!!!!!!! We can't remember doing those things when we were 7!!!!!! There's a great sense of togetherness, most kids help each other and the example is set by a great Principal who is extremely hands on.
Saint felicitas & perpetua school is absolutely a top class school. My child was at a so called top school for academics etc but unfortunately that well known school was badly run. He wasn't happy at his previous school so we heard about Saint Felicitas & Perpetua School and my family can absolutely say that from day one this school is absolutely fantastic. First and foremost my wife and I strongly feel that if a school is worth anything then it all starts with the head of the school and from day one the principal's first impression was fabulous. But first impressions are only worth anything in our view only if those great impressions are lasting and not fake, glad to say that everyday throughout this first year the principal has been top class.
Great school with a great Principal and staff. Principal and teachers care about the children and it shows. Academically sound and a great environment for learning as well as growing as a person. Most of the time the grass isn't greener on the other side but for our family it was because we were at a school previously where our child wasn't happy but we've never seen our child this happy before in regards to school so for us we are blessed to have found St. Felicitas & Perpetua School and definitely for us it is greener here.
Kindness and respect are the things my family receive everyday from both staff and children of the school. The staff are extremely approachable and are always there to help. The leader of this great school ( The Principal ) leads by example and the kindness she shows to everyone is therefore naturally adopted by her staff and also students. Academically it caters for all levels and class size is not too big so our child has benefited greatly, as well as having a Math specialist work with him when he needed extra help on his Math. The ultimate compliment to this school is our child loves it, he likes the teachers and has been made welcome at the school. It's been a great environment and atmosphere for his development. Our other child will be attending this school when she is of age, that is how highly we rate this school.
Excellent school for academics and most importantly child development. Respect and kindness seems to be in abundance throughout this school whether it's from staff or the children themselves. Our child just had his First Holy Communion and what a wonderful ceremony it was. I thought it was as grand as a wedding and was extremely touched by the whole ceremony. The Principal is great and all the staff are extremely helpful...all in all a great place to be due to the Principal, staff being real people and not fake. Most Principals talk a good game but never deliver and my child was at a school who promised this and that but this Principal delivers. She is at all the school events and meetings, that is probably not seen as much to others but for us we feel that it shows great leadership.
The principal is nice. The teachers are okay, but some are weird, creepy, can't gain the respect of the students (because of age), and just can't teach. The school thrives in math, all thanks to the specialized math teacher. Parents have to be very, very involved or just pay extra money on top of the tuition and lots and lots of mandatory fund-raising. Extracurricular activities are average. The school doesn't stand out at all in that department. The students are very safe from weird people (other than teachers) coming in. Oh, the students have to apply to get Honor Roll. It's ridiculous! The students also have to participate in an Extracurrucular activity to be eligable for Honor Roll. That's about all you need to know.
Saints Felicitas and Perpetua has the potential to be a wonderful school, but first they need to fire the staff! There are a few people there that just make the school so miserable for parents. We have lost so many good families because of the lack of kindness, courtesy and respect. Teachers at Saints Felicitas are young and there is a huge turnover. If your child struggles unfortunately they will not get the help that they need. The school caters to children who are average to above average. Math is a huge problem there because the current math teacher cannot teach to the understanding of the student. We are so happy to have left the school. I need to add that the one good thing about Saints Felicitas is the principal, unfortunately with the dismal staff you forget how wonderful she is and dread sending your children to the school because of the negative environment.
SSFP has been an entirely positive experience for me. The academics of this school remain tops and their arts and athletics programs are fantastic. The environment of SSFP is very positive. The teachers are caring and I have met some of the nicest friends I could possibly have. There is an equal balance of boys and girls, contributing to well-rounded and diverse friendships. I highly recommend this school for parents and students that are looking for an academically excellent school, family environment, and emotionally and spiritually nurturing atmosphere.
Both my children attend SSF&P and we are thrilled with the advanced academics offered. The school environment is one that truly embraces each and every student in a loving and non-competitive way while fostering and nurturing self confidence and self worth within each child. The amount of parent involvement is on the higher scale. If you are to have your student attend this school be prepared to spend time at many events, however, for my family it's great because that is our 'family'. Through the required parent involvement is how you as a parent are able to foster the needs of your child and make life long friendships. All the kids 8th and down look after one another as if they were true blood. Their aftercare program is wonderful and allows for fun and academics at the same time. We are blessed!
