I absolutely love the PTO ladies! They are always so helpful and willing to go out of their way whenever you need something! They are all so nice and welcoming! Whenever I walk into the center, they greet me with "Hello" and offer me coffee or water! I have never been to a school that has this much parent involvement! Thank you so much for making a new parent feel so welcome!
I actually have to say that I love the recycle program! The kids actually recycle within their classroom and the monitor brings their recycling to the recycling bin! This is a way to teach the kids how to take care of the environment! I hope you told your kid he was doing a great job! My kids are always so proud to help the school in any way!
Alrighty now! My little Guy (2nd grade) came home from school today and proudly announced he was now the recycle monitor!!! hmmmm.... "recycle monitor" he gets to walk around the school with a recycle bin and pick up TRASH!!!! what the!!! isn't that why they pay a maintenance person!!!! am I standing alone when I think this is completely off the wall!!!
Seventh Street is a wonderful school. Our new principal is fabulous and our staff is the hardest working I've ever experienced - our teachers go above and beyond for each and every student. I am blessed to work in such a positive and supportive environment. My past students and their families have been wonderful and I look forward each year to a new group.
7th Street ES is in a very peaceful residential area. My son arrived at the school after the winiter break. I was so impressed by and grateful for the care his new teacher took to make him feel welcome and feel part of the class. It was obvious to me that the teacher and the principal were committed to nurturing the whole child -- not just concerned about test scores. I was also pleased to see that the Arts play an important role at the school. The school is also active in the community. There is a real nice feel about 7th Street -- a child friendly place to learn. The Principal labeled it as a school with a heart. I whole-heartedly agree with him.
The assistant principal is extremely professional and caring toward students and parents. An excellent educator.
I agree that 7th st. is a nice school in a nice location, its grounds are very clean and the teacher's are nice and the open door policy between the parents and teachers is appreciated, but I can't say the same about their principle. When ever there is an issue you can present it to him, but nothing gets done. He politely listens to your problem, and then it gets swepted under the rug. I think that this is an area that the school board should work on with the principle, to best see where the problems are a how to address them. A concerned parent of a 7th st pupil
Seventh Street rises above the other schools in the area as a result of their active parents, tireless teachers and a supportive administration. My 3rd grader learned Power Point, participated in the 'Chef in the Classroom' program and had dance class once per week. All of these extra activities are made possible by teachers going to extra training courses and grant programs. Parents are welcome in the classroom and the teachers utilize your skills to the benefit of all the students. No child is left behind at Seventh Street! And no parent is left feeling ignored. Seventh Street has minimal staff turnover, a free supervised after-school program, a new kindergarten play structure, new computers in the computer lab, a new library, and new air conditioners! Why go anywhere else?
My daughter is in Kindergarten and so far its been a great school for her. He teacher is one of the best I have ever seen and I am very pleased.
My son was a student at 7 th street school. I believe that the school well achieved above avarage in the teaching as well as the atmostpher in general. There open door policy for parents was very stress free and parents could visit all day if need be. The teachers are great and the principal was very welcoming as well. Even the janitor made you feel like all was ok and safe to leave your child at 7 th street. My son and I will never forget the love and support we found in 7 th street school. Thank you for your enrichment in our most important years of my sons life.
