It's probably a fine school if your kid is an excellent student, mine struggles academically and found no success there, Some teachers were at times very hard to correspond with. Caring staff with a focus on excellence, maybe some to a fault?

Great faculty and staff. Great Catholic identity. It has been a pleasure to send our kids there.

Truly LOVE this school....The teachers are well educated and willing to adapt their teaching approach to reach every type of child and grasp their individual style of learning. The Principle goes above and beyond to help the teachers with their needs for the children and connects with each and every individual student.

Constant compliments received through the Community on what a wonderful school MSSE is. Our daughter thrives and continues to be happy to go through school, even 1/2 way through the school year. Great education provided, along with our Catholic values.

All 3 of my children attended Mary Star Elementary. I placed my oldest here many years ago and had no idea that we would become a part of their family. Understanding that the true schooling needs to start at home. We continue to make the sacrifice to send our kids here because I don't feel confident in the schools in my area, but I also love the virtues the school contines to install in my children. As for the curriculum, I have no complaints but if I do or did have one, I know that my complaints will not fall on deaf ears. I also have seen that the teachers are willing to work with anyone that needs the extra assistance.

Our daughter attended Mary Star of the Sea Middle School and our son is now in the Elementary. Both have thrived due to the high quality of the academic program, the dedication and performance of the teachers and staff and the exceptional envolvement of the parents. If results are the measure of a great school than Mary Star rates 5 Stars. Our daughter graduted from the Middle School with a 3.9 gpa and is acheiving at the same level at Mary Star High School. Our son is a straight A student at the Elemenatary and we expect the same level of acheivement as he moves through Mary Star Middle and High Schools.

Mary Star Elementary is an excellent school that all three of my children have attended. It is not the only school, due to a child with learning disabilities, but I will say that they went above and beyond to do everything they could to accommodate my child. This school has a wonderful family atmosphere where parents are asked to be involved. The staff knows almost all the kids on a first name basis and are very good about keeping the parents informed. Whether it's academics or behavior, I know what is going on with my children. Whenever there was an issue, I felt that it was dealt with in a fair manner. In one instance, my child was being bullied and the staff handled the problem very quickly and the problem stopped. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a smaller, family-friendly atmosphere.

I have been so amazed with the staff and education my son has received at Mary Star. Year after year he continues to receive an education that is curriculum and religious strong. The communication from teachers and staff has been excellent when any situation needs my attention. I also love the fact the children are in the presence of priest and nuns on a regular basis which really brings back the tradition of Catholic Schools and teaches them about the Order. My son is so happy and I would recommend this private school to anyone.

Strong Academics, qualified professional faculty and a truly Catholic atmoshere. Our child is reading and writing at high school level and excelling in Algebra. The students and the staff care about the students which is evident by the after school homework program and the faculty attendance at extracurricular activities! The Sports program improves every year and last year our boys won 2nd in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles! The volunteer coaches are committed and care about teamwork and sporsmanship. I highly recommend Mary Star!

Very dissappointing! After 4 very long years there, moving our children as far away as possible!! This school has NO mercy for families in need, welfare of their children or even the well being of the children in general, all they care about is $$$!! and how much of it you have! Good luck getting anyone to talk to you, help you or even answer your phone calls if you owe scrip, tuition or have not served on bake sale duty in awhile...good luck moms! I reccomend Holy Trinity if you must put your children into a private catholic school, otherwise, public schools are just as good as Mary Star, actually, they are better!
