My son has attended MdTL since he was 2 in the pre-primary classroom. The pre-primary teacher is legendary - my son learned early on to take pride in being a "big boy" and I saw him grow into a confident 3 year old by the end of the school year. My son is now in primary as a first year getting ready to move onto 2nd year (age 3-4) and he really enjoys being able to work with the bigger kids and is looking forward to showing helping the new kids next year. We've had our typical trials for his age, but I feel that I have gotten so much support as a single parent from staff as well as other parents. I can't say enough about the school community - a big part of the reason I signed my son up here. I have also been so impressed with the Montessori way of teaching. My son is really finding his own voice already at such a young age. I highly recommend this school and am so very pleased my son has this opportunity to learn in a way I never got to.
Witnessing the peacefulness in which the children move about MdTL's classrooms and the respect that they are taught for each other, for nature, and for the objects within their environment is like nothing I ve ever seen before. Beyond the special little" Pre-primary room where children can begin their Montessori journey is a whole new world of intriguing material within the three Primary classrooms. These pre-K/K classes are mixed in age and allow the older children to gain confidence while mentoring their peers, in turn allowing younger children to feel comfortable around the big kids . Having the ability to delve into their daily work and see their efforts through to completion without interruption is a learning style which my husband and I have truly come to appreciate. It creates an ability to focus, to pay great attention to detail, and to become truly passionate about learning. In a nutshell, the sense of respect our children have gained for their world & the confidence that they have developed as individuals at such a young age will undoubtedly help them to make good decisions as they move into adulthood. What more could a parent ask for? We LOVE our school!
All three of my children attend MdTL and we love it. The staff, community and students are a close knit group that care so much about the quality of the kid's education. My children truely love to learn.
