Star Academy

They are a fantastic school for children with learning differences. The staff is amazing. They are nurturing and kind, with a true love for the children. They give the children real success and future.

Star Academy has moved to its new, lovely permanent site in San Rafael. My son with dyslexia, AD/HD, and social cognition deficits but a high IQ attended for three years. Star specializes in appropriate education for students with complex learning disabilities. The unique strengths of Star are the specialists who work onsite at the school: Occupational Therapist, Art Therapist, Lindamood-Bell, Slingerland, Speech and Language Therapists, and the specialized curriculum: Making Math Real and Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking curriculum. Star is a gem for most students with learning disabilities. My son learned processes that now help him in public high school.

Excellent program. Provides a truely individualized program, Lindamood-Bell trained specialists, speech therapy, OT. Thoughtful, caring teachers, wonderful director.
