School Official Point of View

Students are polite and friendly and the school has a family feel. Teachers are well qualified and easy to approach. There is a rigorous academic program, including advanced math, individualized instruction so that every student is challenged and helped. The One to One iPad Program helps do this, and students are prepared for high school through the technology. There are many extracurricular programs: choir, karate, band for grades 4-6, competitive drumline, Folkloric dancing for TK to grade 8, Chess, art for all grades with an art teacher who teaches, competitive sports for grades 4-8, Homework Club so students get their homework done after school with the help of a teacher, and extended day care. This is a faith filled, exciting place for both parents and children!

St. Anne's is a great school. The teachers are committed to providing quality education to our children. I also love the fact that my boys look forward to going to school and participating in the various school activities.

New principal brought new programs, band, drum line, folklorico dancing, traveling choir with beautiful robes, after school programs and Academic Decathlon. These programs are largely funded by donations. How exciting for these students.

Teacher effectiveness:
SCHOOL LEADER
All teachers have a CA Credential and teachers are encouraged to attend inservice throughout the year in areas that they choose. Teachers share much with each other and there are monthly faculty meetings which act as mini in-services

Amount of homework:
SCHOOL LEADER
Homework is expected from grades 1-8. The younger grades are expected to complete 15 to 30 minutes of homework which might include reading to parents. Older students are expected to complete more work. Students from grades 5-8 each have a school issued iPad and most of the work is completed and submitted on the iPad. The school offers Homework Club with a teacher each day after school for an hour to help students who may need help completing their homework.

Develops grit:
SCHOOL LEADER
Through the individualized reading and math programs teachers are able to teach the skills that each student needs to achieve. The expectations are high for each student to do their very best and be successful.

Develops respect:
SCHOOL LEADER
Respect is expected of each student. Faculty are respectful of students and so become role models for them.

Develops empathy:
SCHOOL LEADER
Compassion and caring is felt in the school atmosphere, in faculty and students. Each month the school divides itself into 16 small 'school families' made up of students from TK through Grade 8 who work together on a community service project. Students are expected to be caring and to think about the feelings of others.
