In the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD), students are assigned to schools based on their residence. They may also attend charter schools; application deadlines vary. SAUSD provides gifted education services. It also offers special education services such as school-to-work transitions.Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as “in need of improvement” have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district.
