A school with brighter future.. Altough Kathryn huges have a score of lower 700s when my kids initially joined, i see the techers and principle are all very responsive and take care of the kids very seriously. I have confidence this school will soon join the high 800s in score and maybe reach 900 if thing turns well. The only thing that concerns me is the higher number of students per class due to the limiated space avaialbe and goverment budget cut. I hate to see that the school have to let go nice teachers. What a shame the US goverment is funding oversea endless battles but have to leave students and teachers out of school. Overall, i have confidence that Kathryn Hughes will be a new start in the forsee future.

Kathryn Hughes is an excellent school, from the admin staff at the front desk especially Mrs Wilson to the dedicated teachers, and the very committed and energetic principal Mr Keegan. We relocated from Europe in July 2010, Kathryn Hughes became our local school. Both I and my husband not to mention my two children were very anxious about the whole move but most of all about switching to a totally different school system. We need not have worried as the teachers and staff at Kathryn Hughes made the transition for both my children a very pleasant one. Both children had excellent teachers in the 2nd and 5th Grades and the progress we saw in both was exceptional by end of year. Both my children made great friends as the children are very friendly and went out of their way to make the new kids feel welcomed. There is a great balance between strong academics and social/sporting activities, which only contributes to preparing well balanced children who confidently move on to their next steps. So well done and thank you Kathryn Hughes, may you continue to grow and prosper as well you deserve.

This is an amazing school. Great principal ,great teachers and great administrative staff. I have my 2 kids here, a 5th grader and 1st grader, they've been here for last 2 yrs and I have not had any problem. Infact both my kids are doing great. The teachers work very hard with the kids to help them in any kind of way. Whenever I come to the school, I always see Mr Keegan(Principal) walking on the corridors to check on the students. He is doing a great job and trying hard to get more and more new programs for the school. The scores of the school have gone up and I am sure we will soon be in the 900 API. Though I think the parent involvement in this school has to increase a little bit more then this will 'The Best' school. I would recommend this school to every parent. All the best

I have three kids in three separate K classes at Hughes, and we benefit from all three teachers' style and teaching skills. Everyone at the school is motivated. The principal, the admin staff, the teachers, and the cafeteria staff are all genuinely care about the kids. The school has many programs to encourage kids to learn, to read, to play music, to exercise, and to involve with the community. Everyday, when I drop the kids at the school, there is a group fifth-graders helping to open the door, greet, and help out the kids. A parent goes by and ensure the kids don't run, or put on their hood if it rains. A teacher is also there to direct traffic and ensure the kids safety. The school is also starting the parent-participation program where parents put in 4 hours per month to help with the classroom activities. I wish I can have more time to contribute. I also will bring more crayons, paper, books, home-made projects to the kids classes. That way, I will not have to worry much about all the budget cuts.

The scores have gone up tremendously at this school in the last year. We now are in the 800's api and we will soon be on our way to being at 900. I would recommend this school to any parent who is thinking about moving to this area. The principal and the teachers are the top of thier field. Everyone here including all the parents are very nice and help each other out.

I am proud to say that I teach at Hughes Elementary. Everyone is extremely positive at Hughes and it is a great community for our students to learn and prosper in. I am glad to see an increase in parent participation in the classroom and at school events.
