I've sent my child to Granada for 2 years since it's been considered the best Islamic school in the area but it was a big mistake. I agree with the parent mentioning kids who go to Granada should be able to deal with both emotional and academical stress. The after school club program this year is quite good for 1st grade and up. However, homework load is too much. Treatment toward children is centered around disciplining them. Rules are too rigid and punishment too harsh for young children. I'll not consider this school ever again and I do not recommend it to anyone who want their kids continue to love school. I believe most people are sending their kids to this school because of a lack of an alternative. When another alternative came up last year for 6th grade and up, two third of the parents preferred to move there from this school.

Highly dedicated teachers and staff. High academic standards. One of the best Arabic programs. Starting to incorporate Islamic teachings into practical hands on activities that students can implement in their lives. Doing good outreach and service activities in middle school. Lots of improvement in character development. The best Islamic school in the bay area.

The school needs major improvement if it is going to compete with some of the better private and even public schools out there. The Good: (1) Great Arabic and Islamic studies program The Bad: (1) The school makes drastic changes without ever informing the parents, Parents input in critical matters is very seldom polled and when polled they are usually ignored. The school operates under the philosophy that it knows best what the students need and does not take the parent body seriously or care for their input and satisfaction countries. (3) This school has absolutely no alternative teaching methods. (4) Underdeveloped physical education program. (5) Excessive homework for lower grades and a very stressful class and school environment overall. To sum up: If the administrative and philosophical principles of the school are not a deterrent for you, you should also assess your child to ensure that they are above average (emotionally and academically) and that they can handle a very stressful and vigorous academic environment. Otherwise, this school will not be a good fit for you. This is really the best advice I can offer anyone who is considering sending their child to this school

Excellent school, very motivated teachers. Involves parents at all levels. Language arts, maths and Islamic studies teachers are exceptional.

I went to school here. Its pretty good. You learn at a much higher levels than most schools. Sometimes the teachers could be a bit too strict or the other way around, but otherwise its a great place to be.
