Very focused on test scores, and have some of the highest in the nation. However some gifted kids may actually fail to thrive as they feel they are simply sitting, listening and testing. Ideally the school would teach all of their children who to come up with their own solutions to presented problems, create new things (not by the rules), be presented with art in Kindergarten (not just coloring in the lines) and more. Great founders and educators who love our kids, but there is much possibility to take it beyond the test.

they are certainly not above all the rest! All three children of mine have been attending Legacy for several years and as time passes , I become more upset and knowledgable of the games, drama, and disgusting behavior that is claimed right in the name of Christianity! The founders are greedy money hungry individuals and the class sizes are not small. This is not only my opinion. The retention rate says it all! We will be starting a new "Legacy"

Not a great learning or social environment! Just ask around! Ask those who once were part of the 'Legacy" family and have left for negative reasons.

We can say nothing bad about Legacy. Our 2 boys, aged 8 and 13 have totally thrived at Legacy. Our oldest son spent 2 1/2 years in the public school system and we watched it slide into mediocrity and worse. Our regret is that they do not provide grades 9 through 12. The teachers nurturing are superb, facilities are excellent. If pressed to provide any negative comment it would be that the traffic pick up and drop off is a bit overly congested but this is not a real issue concerning the quality of the education provided

I have 3 kids at Legacy, and we have been more than impressed with this school. Our children were in a local public school prior to Legacy. The strong academics and outstanding art, music, foreign language, and sports are well worth the tuition. All of our kids have had the opportunity to play team sports, plus they have lunch leagues as well! Legacy also has an entrepreneur program where students create companies, learn about creating a business plan, marketing, and direct sales. It is a great program that I have not seen in any public school. The staff and administration are outstanding. The principle Mr. Jackson is a bright light at Legacy, and always encourages the students from drop off to pick up. As a parent I would say that if you are looking at schools make sure to visit Legacy this school has it all.

An amazing school. We went from a public school to this private school because of the smaller class size, more extracurricular options, as well as an amazing sports program. Great teachers who care, an incredible principle who cares, and owners who care as well. A perfect combination resulting in an amazing school.

Our daughter has been going to Legacy Christian Academy since Kindergarten and we find it a far superior education to anything else our other three children have attended. She is now in 6th grade and we feel Legacy outshines the competition in academics, character building, faith building and relationship growth. To us, their strongest points are getting the children to speak in front of audiences and to encourage confidence in all that they pursue. The teachers are loving, bright and willing to help each student achieve their goals!

My daughter has been there for 2 years now. Excellent staff: educated, nurturing, positive, and professional. Academics are excellent - way above any nearby public schools. The environment is safe, clean, and respectful Thanks goodness we found them!

My 5 year old son attends kindergarten at Legacy. Our experience has surpassed our expectations. This school offers a perfect balance between academics, character building and the foundation of a Christian faith. The atmosphere is warm and loving; always conducive to quality and care. The teachers are a dream come true and provide great academic challenges when they see the potential of the child. They also offer great extra curricular activities and even basics in Mandarin starting in Kinder. Spanish is incorporated weekly as well. I recommend this school without any reservations and hope that, by the time my son reaches 8th grade, the school has expanded to also offer High School.

I am surprised there are not more 5 star reviews for this school! We are in our 1st year at the school and I have to say, we are very pleased so far. The communication is excellent! The teachers are outstanding. They are very accessible, welcome parent help and make it their priority to get to know every child. The principal is so energetic and takes real pride in being a role model for his students. He seems to really earn the respect of the children instead of getting respect from fear. The owners seem to be very hands on as well. We hope our children can grown & put down roots here until High School. Please keep up the great work!

I have two boys that attend Legacy. My oldest was at the local public school for kindergarten and we had a bad experience with the teacher. We decided to try the private school for his first grade. During this year, he advanced three grade levels in one year for reading. In addition, he was challenged in all other subjects. Our kids have both excelled in all subjects, including math, science, spanish, Bible, and others. Character traits are taught and each month, we have a different trait: patience, diligence, kindness, selflessness, etc. The kids are encouraged to live by these everyday traits. Parent involvement is high so there is opportunity to volunteer if you wish. The teachers at Legacy are EXCEPTIONAL. I don't know where they find them but they are kind, sweet, encouraging, empathetic and the list goes on. I love the teachers at Legacy. There are two classes in each grade and the kids get to know their peers very well. They migrate with the same kids for 6 years in elementary school. I love this because my kids make life-long friends. Coming to Legacy has been the best decision of our life. We are blessed to be part of the Legacy family.

It's an amazing school! We have been there since my son was in the 3 year old preschool program. He's been speaking Spanish since kindergarten, completed his first powerpoint presentation in 2nd grade, and list goes on and on. From math and reading, to their public speaking presentations and science lab experiments, you cant beat this school. He's starting 4th grade in the fall of 2009 and is many years ahead of his public school friends.

You wont get a better private school than this. It's curriculam is very high standard and like no other. The staff from top to bottom is Solid!! they are proffesional, understanding, and are highly educated which is a far cry from the other private school we pulled our son from. It is a very safe, morale invironment for a child to get their education. The facility is outstanding. A very community like environment, since Legacy parents are very proactive with the school to come up with fun activities for the whole family to participate. We like how the school lets their childrens parents know how their child is doing on a daily basis with regards behavior and the work that was done that day by taking most(if not all) home. We had just witnessed their christmas play a few weeks ago, we were blown away by the competent performances of all the children, how did they fit that all in with their busy school day, one has to wonder. Their snow day was a blast, the children, parents, admin, teachers all had fun and a chance to unwind. What is there not to like about the school, if your purpose is nothing short of your childs education and well being?. If one ever wanted a top knotch school, this has to be your first stop! then you can check out the rest and see. From here onwards, we are indepted to Legacy. An Honary mention must goto it's owners Mr & Mrs. Bourrel for their vision and hard work in establishing one of the finest school (if not the best) out here in the Valley. Its a privilage that we will never forget. God Bless Legacy!!!

Legacy academy has been a positive experience for our daughter. She was enrolled in their pre-school program (sunshine), and continued her elementary education with Legacy Private academy's strong academic program with emphasis on moral character. It was a positive experience academically and socially. I was not impressed with the Spanish curriculum for the 4-6 grade classes. Our only regret is that the middle school expansion was not planned in time for our child.

We are so happy with Legacy. Our daughter has attended since Kindergarten and is now in the fourth grade. Legacy has high academic standards, great enrichment classes including computers, Spanish, art, music, science, PE. Great field trips including Sacramento and Washington DC! Most importantly however, is the importance the school places on character development. Very loving teachers and staff. Founder, Tim Bourell is a strong leader and fantastic roll model for the children. We plan to keep our daughter at Legacy through the Jr. High grades.

A Very caring, moral and beautiful school. Teachers are good, but change frequently, with pregnancies. Safe, quiet good kids come here. Playground a little small. Very creative events for kids. Test scores above average. We attended 6 years. We'll miss it.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
