This school is chock full of incredibly dedicated teachers! This is not our "home" school and I chose it many years ago for my two children based on verbal parent reviews. I could not have made a better choice. The staff are really wonderful and the campus is very friendly.

Excellent, excellent school. It doesn't try to be more than what it is. A good, solid school.

An outstanding principal and staff with teachers who go the extra mile. Parental involvement is low and is absolutely reflects the mixed socio-economic background of the area. That said, the education is great, the environment is positive and the school district is outstanding.

At Green Acres, my child has excelled. The teachers are incredibly qualified and she loves going to school. She has learned more in six months than she learned in two years at the other school. The kids are friendly, kind and energetic. The library and cafeteria are great and the enthusiasm for learning is contagious. I am also very pleased with parent involvement - it's appropriate - and the boundaries between staff and parents are excellent.

This is a great school. There are many fun activities throughout the school year. Parent involvement is high, and the atmosphere is safe, respectful, and conductive to learning. The students definently come first here!

I like this school, and more importantly, my kids do too. This is our fourth year at this school (with two kids). Teachers are very responsive and do a lot of 'theme' learning. (When studying Australia, math counts kangaroos, reading targets books about Australia, PE involves a koala game, etc.) The principal is also responsive, and conscientious. The PTA is a good group of folks who try to help build community in the school, and do fundraising to provide extra assemblies and workshops in art and music. The only bad thing I can say is that aesthetically, the school is rather boring. It's constructed of cinder blocks (yawn), but all the interiors have been recently remodeled and are quite nice. The school district (Live Oak) is efficient and fiscally responsible, which trickles down to the schools. A big thumbs up for Green Acres from this Santa Cruz parent.
