This is an amazing school with a very committed staff and community. The teachers work long hours to make the learning relevant and meaningful for the students. The parents and teachers work together to create the best learning environment possible on limited dollars. The community is dedicated to finding the resources necessary to make up for the lack of state and federal funding. Children blossom and believe that learning is a life long goal. My student loves her teacher and feels safe and supported in every aspect of her education. Bravo Brook Knoll!

This school is why academic tenure should be eliminated. Most of the teachers at this school spend more time complaining than helping kids. Teachers say horrible things about students/parents/staff, talk on their cell phones during class (my child knew everything about a teacher's divorce because she spoke to her lawyer on the phone during class), yell at students, and talk publically about how they are only there waiting for their retirement. However, the teachers' union is incredibly strong and therefore no discipline is handed out. The teachers campaign for who they want on the school board because they want control. The teachers have "run out" a superintendent and principal who dared to speak up against their unprofessional behavior. Parents who speak up against the poor behavior by teacher, watch helplessly as their child get bullied by the teacher. So parents sit silently by because they know they cannot rid the school of these miserable and mean teachers due to tenure. The only reason that this school is high performing is the parents who work with their children at home. If BK wants to be a "Bully Free" school, it needs to start with the teachers!

We love Brook Knoll! We could not be happier with this school. My children are excited about learning and come home happy every day. The teachers embrace the children in a positive way and understand kids need to be kids! Learning is interesting and creative to help engage the children. The Principal and staff are terrific. We went to another school for three years where we only saw the Principal at back to school night. I have seen Ms. Frandle in the classrooms, walking around campus, working the car line and at back to school night. The PTA seems very organized and the parent involvement is excellent. I have never seen so many parents wanting to volunteer in the classroom and help outside the class (the way it should be)! Love this school!

Brook Knoll is a positive, happy and caring environment to work and learn in. Our principal is encouraging and understanding with students, parents, and staff members. She constantly makes everyone feel like they can make a giant difference despite cut backs, layoffs, and long hours. The custodial and support staff, teachers, students, parents and community members work together to keep the grounds filled with trees, flowers and interactive gardens. The PTA helps keep the arts, library and other programs in place. Students learn academics, the arts, as well as how to successfully interact with others. When you walk on campus, and into a classrooms be ready to see people smiling, laughing, pondering, and being encouraged to engage in creative thinking.

Brook Knoll is a school that works together for the good of children. It has a FANTASTIC principal and staff - one that cares about the academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being of children. It also has an extremely supportive and responsive parent community.

Parent involvement it outstanding, staff is top notch. We have had 4 kids go through this school. No its not a private school, but for a public school it is an outstanding environment.

This school has been a huge disappointment. Both my kindergartner and first grader have regressed socially and academically. This school does not deal well with either academically bright or academically challenged students and places labels on them. Parent involvement is amazing. Most teachers are good, however they still teach to the test and not to the whole child. Parents need to stay in touch with the teachers to see how their children are doing.
