I was so disgusted that I very clearly in a firm voice turned and told my child "and they punish students on a daily for bullying, how can they pretend to have anyone listen to what they can't even model them much less implement no bullying in their own lives"? My son who has been diagnosed with a known attention disorder and co occurring disorder (for those who don't understand co occurring is more than one disorder classified in the DSM IV the book that therapist use to diagnose individuals). Yes teachers there are some of us parents that know we have educational rights for our children and that our children have rights as well, and those rights are even more when a child has a disability. So next time I am at another 504 plan revision meeting and I hear any teacher tell me once more that "it would be impossible", or "you can't expect me to...." because yes I do, I know my child's rights and will fight for them.
First of all I would like to state that the review below me spelled principal wrong. Just saying. Anyhow this school is okay but i would not recommend it to my family and friends.
Lake center is a great middle school with great leadership. Mr Weiss, the principle is on top of school issues regarding teachers and students. Mr.Zocholoff (I hope it is spelled correctly) Is a wonderful leader and assistant principal as well. A couple of years ago my child had a bulling problem and it was making it hard for her to concentrate in school. When I came to the principal with this concern, He and the assistant principal got right on it! The problem was quickly and efficiently handled and my child was her usual happy self again. These two gentlemen are doing a wonderful job running the school. I would like to take the time to thank a couple of great educators as well: Mr. Gould, Mrs. Torres, Mr. Jaime, Mrs. Corve, Mrs Garcia and Too many to name. THANK YOU ALL for dedicating your time to educating mentally and physically and preparing our young and sometimes very challenging and difficult kids. ~Thank you
I love this school....My daughter started 8th grade and really loves her US History class with Mr. Gould. Her history spiral is extremely impressive. I believe she has the Voyager Team.
