If you want a school where the staff and administration do their best to provide a safe and productive learning environment, TKJH is the place to be. Not only are the kids learning academics, they are learning how to be good citizens.
I have had two children go through Tommie Kunst Jr. High. I highly recommend this school to parents. Ms. Shell and Mr. Cora keep a safe enviroment to lern and they care for the well being of our children.
Our 13 year old granddaughter came to live with us in the middle of a school year. It was a difficult transition period. However, the staff and faculty at Tommie Kunst were incredibly supportive and helped tremendously in helping our granddaughter not only survive her years in junior high but thrive and excel. The teachers went above the call of duty in helping her before and after school. They inspired her in the classroom to not only be a good student but to be a better person. The teachers and staff had high expectations and then went about supporting her in reaching those expectations. Our granddaughter loves to go to school because of her friends and her teachers. We are forever grateful to this school and its wonderful faculty and staff.
The Junior High is a very good looking school. It was very well kept up. All school had their bullies and can push a kid so far. As for Teachers there is some wonderful Teachers but the ones my child had got to be to much stress on me as a parent and the school wasn't doing their part that I felt my child wasn't safe anymore and I was afraid that almost as my child loves school, they were going to drop out. As parent I step up and had my child transfer. My child is doing better and their grades are not suffering like before. They are a lot happier.
