I'm in third grade and I have been at BAS for 3 years. I really enjoy the school. We get to learn fun strategies for Math but the Math is neither too hard or too easy.I find that I have a great time learning with even things that may be challenging. We also have a good time learning things like:Science and Literacy. In IPC we learn about fun and different subjects, like chocolate; where its made, how its made and other. Every Friday we do Big Write where we write a story or report depending on a subject. Such as: a short adventure story or a news paper report. The teachers are very understanding and nice. And they make learning fun and interactive. I would highly recommend the British American School to other kids!

Our 8 year old son was going to a private school that has 12 acres of land where the children have access to beautiful grounds. However, our son was in a school where he did not feel safe and was not given the emotional support that he needed to succeed socially and academically. Since we have brought him to the British American School we have seen a HUGE difference in him. He LOVES his school, he is creating strong bonds with his teachers and classmates. His teacher understands how he learns and teaches in way that he responds too and he loves to work on his school projects. We now know that the grounds of a school or all the smart boards a school may have means nothing if your child does not feel supported and safe. BAS is a small gem and every time my husband and I walk into the classroom we are so very grateful that this magical place exists.

Our daughter previously went to highly rated schools, but due to the large class sizes and lack of attention, she was unmotivated to learn and go to school. Since joining the British American School, she's had a complete turnaround. She's always keen to go to school and do her homework. She's quickly mastering advanced maths and challenging vocabulary. The International Primary Curriculum is giving her a broader, more practical understanding of the world and instilling good civic values. And they keep it fun, with weekly hikes and guest speakers. Could not recommend the school more. It's actually changed my view of what education ought to be.

Simply brilliant. A school with attention to all details. Every child is different and these guys get it, they let them all develop in their own ways with great direction and guidance.

Our son started kindergarten at BAS in September, and from day one he has felt happy and excited to go to school every day. The instructor for the youngest children is amazing, that rare teacher with a true calling. She's brilliant, energetic, and cares deeply about the kids; she tends to the children's emotional and social growth as much as their academic learning. Academics are taken seriously, even this early in the kindergarten year, but the learning is made fun and non-threatening. In addition to math, reading, and writing, the kids study Spanish, drama, art, and music every week. A regular portion of each week is also spent on the IPC--the International Primary Curriculum--a sophisticated curriculum used in hundreds of schools worldwide. The IPC stresses a deep understanding of people and societies from all over the world, and this is one of the best features of the school--we feel our child will grow up with a valuable, enriching global awareness. My husband and I feel so extremely lucky to be here!

Here is a school whose philosophies and missions are truly reflected in the classroom thanks to a dedicated Director who is an educational visionary and talented, skilled teachers who create an academic experience leaving the child wanting for more. The child is enveloped in a safe, nurturing environment that supports a stimulating, international academic curriculum. When I first visited the school I was captivated by the children who all came over to introduce themselves to me and my husband. I was impressed at how connected and confident the children were as they shook our hands and looked us in the eyes as they introduced themselves. Quite figuratively, this school had me at "hello". The British American School and its gifted teachers have instilled the love of learning in my child for which I will be forever grateful.

Every day is a learning adventure for our 8-year old son who started at the British-American School (BAS) two years ago. We are truly delighted with the school. The staff are aware and in tune with the needs of the children creating a stimulating and supporting environment which nurtures their intellect, while allowing their imagination and creativity to soar. What s truly wonderful, and something we feel truly sets this school apart, is that the learning environment is alive as the teachers seem to be in tune with their own innate curiosity and wonder and are as interested as the children in learning and growing. The teacher to student ratio is low enough that the process is highly personalized to meet the learning stage of each student, and assures that each child s skills are fostered and developed with utmost attention to his/her individual needs and capability. We feel deeply fortunate to have found this school and feel it is solidly equipping our son for the life long adventure of learning.

My daughter is having the most amazing experience at BAS. The school is, to say the least, alternative, although it follows a widely admired syllabus, the International Primary Curriculum. BAS-LA has very small mixed age classes, 10-12 kids per class, grouped by general age range. Project-based thematic units of study change every 6 weeks and all education happens in context. The teachers know each child very well and tailor their activities within the project. Academics are rigorous and the kids are inspired and challenged by the classwork. They are also encouraged to learn about their personal and social development, including life-skills, creativity, and self-understanding. Many schools talk about the development of the whole child, but BAS-LA has a real methodology in place. Parents are seen as true partners in our child s education. We aren t hit up for supplies or money throughout the year. We aren t banned from the classroom or expected to act as a teacher s aide. The BAS teachers understand that parents are an important part of their child s education and we are in constant contact with the teacher. It is truly an exceptional school.

Fantastic school! We were looking for somewhere new, for our 7yr old son who was "switched off" and bored by the teaching where he was. Since starting at BAS, he is a different child. Thanks to the personal attention and small class size, he is now interested, engaged and making huge amounts of progress in a fun and creative environment. The wonderful, project based curriculum will appeal to all (not just the Brits!) as a great alternative to the curriculum being taught in most Schools.
